Everton were close to nicking it at the end and we'd had the entire second half to right the wrongs of the first. Poor game, fair result but the rags will likely top the table going into the derby.
but 2nd after it..on GD of course..just like last year..Kompany anyone !

-- Sat Dec 01, 2012 9:29 am --

Just lacked the edge around the box when needed.

Hart had nothing to do in the second half until injury time.

Not clinical enough to get the second goal that would have won us the game.

In boxing parlance we won it on points quite comfortably without the knockout blow.

Our slow starts have to be addressed.
This sums it up for me, that and the fact that we just dont make the final pass soon enough..all the strikers need to take up better positions

It was by beating hoodoo teams like Everton last year that gave us the points to get the title, I just hope we don't regret not putting in the extra effort to beat Everton today.

The effort was ok especially in the second half , Everton offered nothing but defended well and we were not good enough to get a second goal.

We need to stop hyping up this unbeaten run, you can go all season unbeaten drawing 1-1, yet you are most likely going to get relegated with 38 points.

If we go unbeaten all season, we will win the league.

That's if they don't hammer Reading.

Oh dear, Edin gets and blows another chance to stake a regular starting place. I wish people would stop all this still unbeaten stuff, we could draw all our games to the end of the season and finish outside the top 4.
Still, back on top is a positive. Too many flat looking displays so far this season and another limp first 30 minutes....we really need to make it easier for ourselves by getting stuck in at home from the off. Our midfield is a bit stuttery this season
We are top though.. for a few seconds anyway...It aint plain sailing or it would be be boredom

Got 3 points against them last season. Just need a win at their shithole and all is good.

Moyes really seems to have Mancini's number. Disappointing point in an uninspiring display.

Moyes really does have Mancini's number. The buildup play was too slow for an organised Everton team, that knew what to expect from us, having faced the same thing for some time now. Far too predictable. Not a fatal result though, but we need to improve for the derby.

We thumped them in this fixture last year, and the two scorers were both subs.

But don't let reality get in the way of a good spanking.

Re: Cty v Everton Post Match Discussion

Not too disappointed with a point, because Everton are a good side. I'm a bit worried that Mancini has a bit of a downer on Tevez at the moment though.

Exactly.

When we play Stoke and Everton who both basically play the same way, we just seem to struggle unless we get that first goal.

Lets not forget that Everton are really playing well and are very hard to beat not just for City but anyone at the moment.

Re: Cty v Everton Post Match Discussion

I'll take that point from a terrible display from our team. Whats with all the oofffing the ball first half then dancing round the box doing nothing.

Massive improvement needed for next week.
