Been saying this for 3 years. Best in the league off the ball. Don't know why he and SIlva hasn't worked too well in the past. Coz he moves like no other.

It has. They played together throughout the first half of 2011/12 - together with two strikers - as we handed out hammerings left, right and centre. We're nearly always better with the two of them in the team.

The idea that they don't play well together was really just something that took hold as our performances tailed off from January into March/April 2012 (they also played together every game (I think) in the final 6 games that we won).

id like to see us play a 4231 with...

--------Aguero (Negredo)--------
Nasri-----Silva-----Navas (Milner)

I'm still not sold on Navas as a regular, if we were to play like that, I'd rather:
---Aguero (Negredo)----
Nasri-----Jovetic-----Silva

That said, I still think the 4-2-2-2 can work well (both home and away), provided we play it relatively narrowly:
----Aguero--Negredo------
Nasri-----------------Silva
------Fern-----Toure---------

Having both Silva and Nasri in those areas means we'd often end up with 4 players in central positions, and would very rarely be overrun in midfield

Kolarov has won the LB starting job at the moment. It seems to me that the regular playing time has improved his defense.

Good performance and a much needed morale boosting victory.
Negatives - Fernandinho, another shocking performance. At the moment he looks off the pace and making to many errors.

I'm an idiot , therefore am wrong all the time,
but I don't think I've ever been as wrong about someone as I was about nasri. attitude , skill, "heart" , everything else I think I was entirely wrong about, I'm ok with that though.

dont be so hard on yourself, you're not the only one that was wrong about him. Ever since Mancini called him out/said he wanted to punch him, Nasri has been better and better each match. I think he just got a bit apathetic the beginning of last year, but now-a-days the guy is focused and dedicated.

Quick edit I see. I clocked your garbage though.

Some excellent opinions on the game. Good performance but more than that it was the attitude from the players I was most pleased about. The first 15 mins and going one nil down I was fearing the worst. the players responded brilliantly. Tactically we got away with 442 today but against the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea I hope Pellers considers putting an extra man in midfield.
Impressed with Kolarov today, some excellent crosses. Forwards need to respect his quality of delivery and work harder to get on the end of them.

On a side note being a lunch time game disappointed to see so many empty seats at the end. The team deserved a standing ovation after what happened on Wednesday.

Just all over a decent performance and a deserved victory.

My only wish is that more of our players would get onto the end of those Kolarov crosses,

Very happy with that performance. Much better and it is clear that Negredo has to start more matches at the expense of Dzeko.

Couldn't really fault anyone today. Thought they all played well with Silva being my man of match.

Kolorov has been very good since he came back in and was again today.

Good result for Pellegrini, much needed and well deserved.

Now to work on the away form.

And it would open up the wings for the fullbacks to overlap. Hope Pellegrini's reading this.
