Let's calm down on the Balo hate. We know he's volatile and that these things happen with him from time to time and will probably happen again, he cannot change over night though he is well on the way, I feel. The red card was debatable although Balo should have known better.

Sorry but he has been here long enough now so the "overnight" bit does not wash with me. I think fans are well within their right to be miffed at him for this tbh.

Of course they are right to be annoyed, that's understood - I am talking about the exaggerated reactions, some of which are malevolent and dishonest in intention (for instance one of these was my fellow Bosnian twelve-year old or something, resenting Balo as a rival of Dzeko, thus venting).

Ahh kk got you mate :)

Yeah some people need to relax before posting indeed.

He was the best mid today. Better than: Barry, Milner, Nasri and Silva.

Milner and Barry were the standout performers in there today, with Milner shading it for his workrate. Yaya workrate was really poor today, maybe time to give him a break against Norwich in preparation ofr the Chelsea game.

he got clattered in the first half, studded challenge near his groin

That back tracking when he ran the length of the pitch to block gutterez was terrible, too much effort

I really dont get your point, as if one sprint back proves his workrate, I like to judge the game over the full 90 mins.

Also I have no idea who Gutterez is, unless you are trying to prove that Yayas work rate wasnt poor today due to his tracking of Guttierez a week ago.

On another note..

why oh why why why why why why didn't Silva just lift it over Reina?

he's too kind! chip him FFS man!

i'll let you off though, cause your hair looked amazing and your fit as mate <3

Good result.

Team look knackered and the 5 man midfield Pool used was a good call from Dalglish.

Lucas had a great game breaking up our play, deservedly MOTM.

I, and a few others on here, have been saying we need to sign an outright winger and that still stands.

Since we resigned to long balls, Dzeko probably should have been the first sub. He did hold up the ball as could be expected when he finally entered the pitch.

Balotelli? Back to his old ways, disappointing really. Fucking idiot yellow cards and we suffered for it. He is still a liability. His team ethic is horrible. Very disappointed to be honest.
All good points apart from the last one. He would not have been sent off today if the referee had been doing his job properly.

Had it been Suarez doing the same thing to Kompany, the entire forum would've been screaming bloody murder.

When you are on a yellow card (the first one being an incredible stupid one, given the ref was card happy) you need to think before you act. What is the point of being wreckless that high up the pitch? He did lead with his elbow, end of.

And crying that Pool did it to us, doesn't really help us, does it?

I realize me and Prestwich are in minority here, but I agree with him - Mario is an accident waiting to happen.

Can't think of any player in our team who would have done what Mario did today. I realize he is still young, but his temper will be his downfall, if it doesn't change.

And to clarify, I like Balotelli, with his antics. But I do not like his temper.

what fucking temper did he show on the pitch? he laughed when he was sent off. where's the temper? he didn't even dissent.

the first 30 mins were the best the prem could offer, power pace and skill from 2 sides going for it,if the lead had been held for any length of time the scousers would have had to commit more and left gaps which is when we generally take control.Thought long ball tactics crept back too easily today,we thrive on possession not hoof ball. All things considered, not least Napoli, and we looked like the home team for a lot of the game, the boyz done good although the perfect blend between mazy attacks and rock solid defence still eludes the team, but not by much
