CITY v Liverpool: Post Match Discussion

Not a bad point after the European game. Would have took that point before the start. Looked tired at the end

I thought we looked just as vulnerable to the quick counter today as we did against Napoli. Loads of giveaways in the final 3rd and acres of space for the other team. Today at least our fullbacks recovered but I thought central midfield didn't. We've tried both De Jong and Barry with Milner and Yaya, but nothing seems to help. Against Napoli it was Dzeko and Mario, today it was Nasri and Aguero, again neither setup seems to help.

What would you do transfer or strategy wise to stop this? This is not a player slagging thread considering we've looked vulnerable to this strategy no matter who plays.
It's a testament to our reputation and the type of football we are playing that teams try and defend at home and counter-attack us

Of course it's awkward to deal with but it comes from being good. Getafe did it to Barca yesterday and won 1-0.

Balo's second yellow was the softest I've seen in a long time and if theres City fans on here who support Atkinsons decision then they really need to get a grip.

1-1, satisfied with the result gaining a point away from home at Anfield. Not satisfied with the poor refereeing however.

Break it down mate and we've conceded a goal today from a deflected shot that was going miles wide. nothing to do with being vunerable to counter attacking football.

Was just a bad day at the office coupled with some poor decisions from the ref.

I had this conversation with a city fan the other day.

We look like a house built on sand. We look like we could crumble at any time.
If we go on a bad run, our confidence could disappear.
We dont look solid enough. Something is amiss and i cant put my finger on it.

I agree. We are shit.

And next time we play Manchester United we've had it because they will have Cleverly back.

was that a member of the constabulary coming between Mancini and Balo after the sending off...?

please no!
Not coming between them, just there to escort Mario down the tunnel.
See the Merseyside constabulary have changed their fookin tune. They never used to escort City fans anywhere apart from straight into Stanley fookin Park - coonts!!

It's a very good point coming on the back of the Napoli game...our attacking stats were poor today in comparison to the season so far and we did seem less sharp in the final third...this point in the season is going to be all about digging out wins and draws like this...Norwich have had a good season so far and will be no pushover.

Re: Rice Pudding

People bash him but when is he ever part of Mancini's rotation policy and given a rest? When we play in the domestic cups? We have no one who can really do what he does, he is the closest thing we have to a deep-lying playmaker and makes those runs, the best we could do without buying someone or waiting for Razak to mature is try Silva or Nasri deeper.

I don't understand the criticism, the whole team didn't play well outside of Hart and we still got a point at Anfield. The place where we got turned over last year.

I thought we played well. Ref didnt

Ref was really inconsistent. To me, we were poor in the final 3rd. A lot of bad touches for giveaways by everyone.

Can't really single anyone out today except Joe Hart. We could have played a lot better and even then managed a draw at one of our most difficult fixtures.

Definitely feeling relief right now and not disappointment.

Tough game as I expected

If Lescott doesn't put into his OG then we go on to win the game imo but shit happens and in the end we could have won it and then could have lost it too so I'll take the hard earned point ta

STILL UNBEATEN!!!
