CITY v Liverpool: Post Match Discussion

Coulda win it if we'd have been a little mroe composed and if we'd shut up shop for a bit after getting our goal. We tired badly after 70 mins (particularly Yaya) and it showed. in the end we were happy to come away with a draw even though we coulda nicked it with Silva.

End of the day we've come away from anfield with a point after a very tough midweek away champs league fixture, with a lone front man who isn't playing anywhere near his best whilst maintaining our 5 point lead after the rags drew with the toon. Gotta put norwich away on sat and take it from there

The 2nd yellow was a complete joke, virtually every non-City fan I've spoke to/seen posting has said the same. Skrtel flopped and Adam whined to the ref who was taken in.

Mario's first yellow was also very soft considering Skrtel got away with wrestling Aguero to the ground in the 1st half.

Atkinson is a poor ref who regularly favours the home side, thought it was a well earned point today all things considered.

Professionalism is to adapt to the circumstances. If it is clear that the ref is favoring one side, the professional player adapts, regardless of which side he is on - the favored one, or the punished one.

The professional does not give the referee the choice to favor or not, as much as possible, that is.

"He can't get a yellow, because that guy didn't get a yellow" is a child's argument.

professional is cheating then? okay...

First: I hate cheating just as much as the next guy.

That is not what I meant, but I can see how you can slant what I said into that, but I don't think you are dumb enough to completely ignore the validity of what I posted. To clarify:

An unfavored professional player avoids giving the referee the choice.

Let's see you twist that if you can.

Great game of footy i thought. It reminded me of the good old days. End to end stuff with plenty of meaty challenges, lots of passion and plenty of controversy.
Brilliant captains performance from Vinny and stunning work from JH. Barry mixed it in midfield and Milner never gave up. Lescott showed real character to recover from the og
The ref made some shocking decisions but also handled Suarez' theatrics very well (when will cards for diving become compulsory?)
Mario's sending off seemed inevitable even before he came on and i'd say the ref fell for the Liverpool defences tricks.

Still top of the league.

Very happy with a point before the match, even more so now after events yesterday. We looked tired at times, took the game to them and Aguero looked lively early on.
Balo was naieve at best, hardly touched Skrtel but of course he made a meal of it.Joe was superb throughout the game but Merlin could have won it at the end.Come May,its these type of points we could look back on as being able to keep the unbeaten league run going and picking up a point when we weren't at our very best.Another improvement on last seasons corresponding fixture, spirit in the side seems brilliant, never say die attitude, especially from Vinnie.Keep picking up points on our travels from Chelski and maintain our home form, going into New Year would be a magnificent achievement on our quest for glory.

Probably about a fair point, we were struggling at the end. The dippers know how to play up to the ref - some of it was worthy of an oscar.

2. However, Suarez had the shit kicked out of him. Yeah, I know, he goes down far too easy sometimes. We all hate to see it, but I'm struggling to think of a time yesterday were he genuinely went down without contact.

laughing at this, suarez went down like he'd be shot then rolling on the floor

hate the ****

Borrowed off another thread but I thought it was fitting

We shouldn`t complain too much about how the Liverpool players were going on about that.
The worst fucker i`ve seen for complaining and "waving" a so called card was Elano. And I`ve fucking slagged him off at the games for doing so.
Unfortunately I`ve also seen Sergio do the same thing.
Must be taught this in South America.
I fucking hate it and I wish refs would book these fuckers.

Watched it again just now and our passing was awful not seen us like that for ages. We were 2nd to every ball and after about 75 mins u could just see the tiredness in the players. Reina handballed outside the box should of been a red because if he didn't have his arms out Aguero would of knocked it passed him ref was about 10 yards away disgraceful decision. Yaya Toure just gave up towards the end an let Liverpool players run at us. So I look at the game overall and say a very good point taken because we were crap :)

interesting stuff about Aguero nicked from the Guardian by Spion Kop
