City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

Loved seeing Vinnie easily fend off Skrtel for the equaliser - Skrtel LOVES a wrestle and generally gets away with murder defending corners, but you can't out-muscle Vinnie.

No way they were the better team. We had as many chances to score as they did. Not to mention if the ref did his job , skirtel should be off in the first half.

Fantastic result but a poor performance, 50% relieved & 50% happy as fuck.

What the fuck is it with our centre halfs diving into challenges and trying to win the ball 10 yards into the oppositions half, leaving us all over the place at the back, anyone who think Vinny was MOTM is on glue.

We really didn't perform but credit to the scousers, they have to be considered genuine title challengers after that

Thurday night - Channel 5 for the rags.

I think to be blatently obvious it's a Pellegreenie tic tac

Entertaining game, but Liverpool have been as good, if not better, in the corresponding fixtures in recent years (a couple of notable exceptions), so the real test for them is how they fare against other teams. They've now lost away to us and Arsenal and dropped points at Everton and Newcastle. They won't be far away this season, but I would question whether or not they have the psychological strength to go the distance and win it.

The media's already behind Liverpool on this one saying they were the better team and that the winning goal was a Mignolet howler. Unbelievable

And to some extent theres fuck all wrong with those comments.

Why is nobody giving Negedo credit for using the outside of his foot, a skill you do not see much these days.
Liverpool played well but they were not the better team, City missed much more chances.

He hates using his right. We love praising two-footed players, and condemning one-footed players...

Yaya left a lot of space behind him at times in first half and left Fern with plenty of work to do; thought for second game in a row, Fern was sometimes a bit weak in the challenge in the first half. That contributed to us being susceptible on break and our defenders diving in on Suarez made things a bit nervy.

Second half we were very much two banks of four, as Yaya sat in more and it mostly worked well; although Suarez was dangerous throughout.

Thought we should have retained possession better in the last ten minutes.

Very important win and actually good to see us grind it out in the second half.

Could've been another higher scoring game but for some last ditch defending and poor finishing.
Relieved at the end for sure!!! Full credit to Liverpool and Rodgers, he always seems to work our weaknesses out, today Lescott and Kolarov got off lightly on the left, don't know why Clichy was not preferred, well, thinking on it, it'll be his poor crossing, if he could just improve that he'd be perfect.

Great game and glad we got the 3pts, credit to Liverpool they came to play and they did, but we did the job, Joe Hart was immense as was Vincent Kompany, good to see Kompany and Lescott together in the defence, Negredo and Kompany both took their goals well, I hope Negredo injury isn't to serious..............well done guys.................
