City v Liverpool Post Match Thread

Felt we deserved a point today. So pleased we stood toe to toe with a team that's been a title challenger for so long, speaks volumes about our credentials for the top 4. Easy the two best teams in the league, certainly one of the matches of the season so far. Can't wait for the return leg
Best performance from a visiting team. Kompany and Zabaleta compliment Liverpool on our web-site, and say similar.

However you didn't take your chances so in a way you did not deserve to take a point.

I feel City if Negredo had not scored, we'd have engineered a goal in the 2nd half. We just did what was necessary.

Liverpool have a very tough fixture at Chelsea now, as they can rotate players

We were crap, as were the tactics, or distinct lack of them.

That's not football, basically goading your opponent to knock you out by lowering your hands and sticking your chin out.

Liverpool were no great shakes, a slightly upgraded version of Swansea, who also caused us the same problem between our midfield and defenders.

When Aguero is missing and Negredo is up top on his own, our shortcomings on the back foot are just more pronounced as we lack that extra consideration that opponents have to usually accommodate for.

Lescott should never play for us again, it was clear to see how important it is having a second central defender in Demichelis, who can actually pass a ball forward out of the backline.

Well done Joe Hart, but I thought the rest of the lads are starting to look leggy, our squad depth and quality is nothing of the sort.

What a fantastic result, though. Even at 60 per cent we can get the job done.

Please Manuel, go cap in hand this January.

One left back, one central defender and a world class midfielder.

That's exactly how I saw it and with our main players not actually getting much rest I worry for the last month of the season fitness wise we lose Fernandinho we will struggle big time!!

Holy shit we were lucky there.

Joe Hart MOTM for me, good to have him back in form.

I feel lescotts terrible performance highlights the problem with the new tactics we've adopted, and goes to show demi ain't actually been that bad at all relatively speaking. The problem is I don't think Nasty is suited to this style either but hopefully being young he can adapt.
lescotts terrible performance got to be some kind of pisstake,he's justed played the best striker in world football at the minute out of the game, unfuckingbelievable.

So what will Rodgers penalty be for having a go at the officials?
And does anyone know if Suarez is close to a suspension with the
yellow cards? Thanks. (I could see them imploding).

This is the web-site to check, but I am not sure ifit has been updated yet as I ddn't see Valencia's suspension on there

MOTD couldn't cover everything I suppose, but they glossed over his dives. Did my head in during the game. Ref should have yellow-carded him a lot earlier and that might have stopped it. Otherwise he will calculate that the risk reward benefit means it's worth his while diving. Skrtel will concede a penalty soon if he carries on fouling at corners

Re: Liverpool Thread 2013/14

I like Brendan Rodgers and his take-no-shit attitude but his post-game remarks really left a sour taste in my mouth. Bitter in defeat, a whiskeynose or Wenger-like conference. Take points off Chelsea for us next week and I wish them bad results the rest of the campaign.

3points yes liverpool played well but no improvement on last years result onwards and upwards blues

I didn't realise Silva was only 1 card away from a suspension.

We must have seen different games

Ducado, is tolmie's hairdo trying to do a Clarkie on us do you think? Because if not I 100% agree with you he must have been watching a different game to us, I watched it at the ground and have just re-watched it on BT Sport and that was one hell of a game. As MOTD said our one touch football is awesome.
