Good win for you guys and good game that. Gutted we lost it when I thought a Draw wouldn't have flattered us. The quality and depth of your side is amazing and as everyone says the title is yours to loose. It was a close entertaining game and our poor finishing and your extra quality shown at the end. I thought Fernandinho was MOM for me. Finally you got someone who can provide your attacking players platform to attack. Silva and Navas were constant thorn for our side and Yaya when decides to go is unstoppable force. Such a amazing combination of physical force and technical ability. In my opinion you have the best combination of physical power and technical ability in middle of the park.

Hart pulled out some good save for you and I thought Kompany was rock wall at back. I think probably the best CB in EPL right now. Was zabaletta really injured or you guys just made things up and kept that secret weapon for us. Never looked like he was out of match practice.

For us Suarez played well and created chances for others. Sterling showed flashes of brilliance and midfield of Allen, Henderson and Lucas combated yours very well. Coutinho played well but with Zabaletta and Navas against him and Sisokho limited his influence for our side. In defense Sakho played very well but I thought Skertel and Johnson were poor.

Finally with Aguero to come back and some of the better defenders, I think you will running away with league this year. Man United are a joke under moyes and Mourinho won't trouble you guys unless he finds his Drogba. Even then I don't think Chelsea can match your quality. Arsenal can mount some pressure but I think they are big chokers when the push comes.

I have read some utter drivel in this thread and it's equivalent on RAWK so this comes as a breath of fresh air. Without any doubt the best team to come to the Etihad, and with the exception of Chelsea I don't think there is anyone yet to come who will seriously trouble us (don't get me wrong, a mid/low table team will play the game of their lives when we are off the pace and get a result at some point, but you know what I mean). So probably our toughest home fixture of the season.

If Liverpool had gone away with a draw I don't think we could have really complained. They had some good chances and failed to take them. That said, so did we, and if we had made the game safe with a third with 10-15 minutes to go I don't think anyone could say we wouldn't have deserved it - putting teams away in the last quarter of the game (if not before) is what he have done all season. You might also say the difference between the sides was that Joe Hart made some excellent saves, whereas Mignolet should have done better with Negredo's shot and whoever it was on the line for Kompany's goal might have done better to keep the ball out. He seemed a bit flat footed to me.

Anyway, it was a game of fine margins. Liverpool were unlucky with the offside call, but I'm not sure the match would have panned out any differently had the goal stood. As against Everton, going behind made us move up a gear, and as against Arsenal I thought that if they had equalised we had more in the tank.

Most importantly, it was a really good game of football. the move for Negredo's goal was phenomenal, and some of Liverpool's approach play was as good as much that we have seen. Arsenal and Chelsea are good teams, too, but there is no contest in terms of which game was the more entertaining. For all that we miss Aguero, I think it was a good day to play Liverpool without Gerrard. With him in Lee Mason's ear some of the decisions might have gone the other way (as they did last time he reffed a City/Liverpool game).

To be honest mate I don't think Lucas and Stevie in midfield would have been able to withstand your midfield. Henderson and Allen gave our midfield much needed legs. When we play with Stevie and Lucas, lot of time our midfield gets overrun. Stevie is not young anymore and Lucas has lost yard of pace since his injury (though would have loved Stevie as sub since we missed his set piece delivery). For me its either Stevie/Lucas with Allen and Henderson.

You are right this was close fought game and it could have been either 3-1 to you 2-3 to use. Chances on both sides. I was fuming at linesman's offside decision but it would have been foolish to say that affected the result. It was very early in game and no one can predict what happens for remaining 75 odd minutes.

I agree with you that if both teams would have been at stalemate at half time, you would have approached second half differently. You had a lead to protect and you did it very well. At the same time you kept on attacking too whenever you had the chance.

Think I would agree, after all you can only play 11! The movement from midfield was second to none, which when playing away is a major plus at home trying to break a team down may be different against the better side, but needs must I guess as only Suarez as recognised striker. Will be very tight for rest of season and I would say any 1 from 4 can win the title, despite bookies having us evens I think Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea and City will push each other all the way.

I know what you mean about Gerrard but I think his experience gives you something nobody else does even if his legs don't give you what they used to. He is not the England captain for no reason and he is clever enough to say just before a corner 'keep an eye on Lescott will you, ref, he's been at Suarez all game', and to do it in a way that doesn't piss the ref off by making it sound like he is telling the ref what to do. In tight games like yesterday sometimes a bit of guile and know how is the difference between the teams.

As I said, our toughest home fixture of the season by a distance, and FWIW I think he would have made it tougher still.

What a player Suarez is,constant threat.I watched him at Ajax and didn't fancy him to do well in PL but what do I know.

He must be out of his mind though to keep on diving on national TV,it will be noted that he has not and can not reform.

He made stick for his own back. I love him to bits because he never gives up and has such a quality. This year he has cut it down and also refrained himself from talking to referees. But due to his past, he will always get pointed out and rightly so. Hope he gets his act together longer since he is too good a player to get stuck in those silly things.

Not quite at our best against a Liverpool team who nearly took advantage of the situation. But it's good to win the derby against our biggest rivals.
Have to laugh at Skirtels shirt pulling antics on Vinnie at set pieces. I reckon if he'd concentrated on going for the ball he could have won the header. Impossible for the ref to give a foul for shirt pulling on Suarez when Liverpool employ the same tactic when they defend.

I talked about delusion from the Liverpool fans. well look at this from red café.

I think its time to accept that Liverpool could actually win the league this season.

That'sHernandez
And it doesn't even make sense because compared to our squad, Liverpool's is distinctly average.

Please Manuel, go cap in hand this January.

One left back, one central defender and a world class midfielder.

Is there any chance of this happening then?

Totally agree with Tolmie
Cabeye is the midfielder we need (to replace YaYa in his DM role) - this guy knows the Prem and has played well all season. He's powerful and with great vision and 100% consistent.
Luke Shaw is the left back. He looked really good against us and has been consistent all season.

Definitely needs a two footed centre half to rotate with Vince and Nastastic. Don't know who though...

Bit frustrated with Skertel in that regard. He doesn't have a clue where the ball is he is trying to pull Kompany. There are only 2 outcomes there, Kompany wins header and scores or gets pulled down and wins penalty. This is why we are shit a set piece defending and most of the time Skertel is the one costing us.
