Please Manuel, go cap in hand this January.

One left back, one central defender and a world class midfielder.

Is there any chance of this happening then?

Totally agree with Tolmie
Cabeye is the midfielder we need (to replace YaYa in his DM role) - this guy knows the Prem and has played well all season. He's powerful and with great vision and 100% consistent.
Luke Shaw is the left back. He looked really good against us and has been consistent all season.

Definitely needs a two footed centre half to rotate with Vince and Nastastic. Don't know who though...

Cabaye is a CM not a DM and also not fit to lace Yaya's boots. How can you say he is 100% consistent unless you watch every minute of every Newcastle game?

He can say it because he is on the WUM

Bloody hell. From some of the whining comments I'm reading on here you'd have thought we'd lost 6-0. I hate to point it out but Liverpool were top of the table, full of confidence and had a striker in Suarez who is in the form of his life. Yes, I know, so were Arsenal top and we beat them 6-3, but they lack the team spirit and physicality of this Liverpool team. They played well and weren't afraid to attack us on our own patch, they all put in a shift and deserved a draw at least. I accept we weren't at out best but some of that was due to the pressure Liverpool put on us. Apart from Bayern, that was the best performance by a team at the Etihad this season. Their football deserves a top 4 place at least and if we don't get our away form sorted they could even snatch the title. It will be interesting to see how Maureen's Chelski cope with them.

Not quite at our best against a Liverpool team who nearly took advantage of the situation. But it's good to win the derby against our biggest rivals.
Have to laugh at Skirtels shirt pulling antics on Vinnie at set pieces. I reckon if he'd concentrated on going for the ball he could have won the header. Impossible for the ref to give a foul for shirt pulling on Suarez when Liverpool employ the same tactic when they defend.

Bit frustrated with Skertel in that regard. He doesn't have a clue where the ball is he is trying to pull Kompany. There are only 2 outcomes there, Kompany wins header and scores or gets pulled down and wins penalty. This is why we are shit a set piece defending and most of the time Skertel is the one costing us.
The focus is on Skirtel now so he'll either have to cut it out or you'll be penalised for it. I honestly don't believe he's a good enough defender to put up with that sort of shit from.

a lot has been said about theoffside goal that didnt stand .but without seeing it back is the lad that puts the ball inthe net after sterling miscontrols after going round hart off side ? ie is he behind hart ?

From my understanding of the offside rule, all that mattered then was that Coutinho was no more than in line with Sterling to be onside. If he was level or behind Sterling when Sterling last touches the ball, he's okay. Er, I think!

I see Rodgers is questioning Lee Mason being biased towards City. That is what he is implying anyway.
Mason is from Bolton - doesn't make him a City fan. Also the linesman got the call wrong not Mason.
What penalty was Rodgers claiming late in the game??. Shirley not Suarez doing an amazing 2 tucks with pike -
should have been booked. - and Skirtel must have a wardrobe full of opponents shirts the way he pulls them off.
Love to see Vinny wearing a shirt where the seams are "velcroed"................then see Skirtel trying to beg the ref. into not giving a penalty.

Liverpool goal was OFFSIDE by my replaying.
When the ball is passed Coutinho is in an offside position.
Can someone watch the replay in slo-mo and back us up?
