City v Napoli Post Match Discussion Thread

Napoli made full use of the dark arts, played for a point and did it well...

For a first CL outing it's B-.

Given that we went behind relatively late in the day, I'm just happy to have gotten a point out of that.

All credit to Napoli who set up perfectly and were full value for the point. Bit disjointed up front, couple of uncharacteristic mistakes by Vinnie...must do much better against Bayern.

We should be winning games like these, ok napoli played well but our match fitness should have told in the second half, match fitness wise we are 3 games ahead of them but we did not make it count, we won't go far unless we learn and learn quick

both looked poor today. esp barry for loosing out in a crucial area. silly mistake.

but looking at the bench who is better?

we are missing de jong and milner.
Barry was brilliant tonight or was I watching a different match???

Barry played well except for the mistake that led to their goal.

Lescott is our biggest liability!

Gives me a heart attack everytime he gets the ball..

Don't think he's good enough for Champions League football tbh..

I don't think Barry understands what a counter-attack is. he seems intent on only playing it backwards or 3 yards sideways. we really missed de jong.

That's a good point. Last season we had a terrible time if we fell behind just drawing even.

The boys cannot play well every game and Napoli will give all teams in this group a game. A point is not the world as this will be a tight
group. We didn't win because in the second half the midfield went missing. Shows how much we miss De Jong. Not sure why Lescott gets the most stick as I thought are most ineffective player tonight was Nasri.

I could see the French coach's frustration with Nasri re: stepping on the toes of the other midfield players.

A good point earned. Yes could of been all 3, but could of just as easily been zero. This is good because it'll get rid of some of the hype generated around us, history shows we shoot ourselves in the foot when we're favorites. Our passing was superb i thought except for our final ball but Napoli impressed me an awful lot, much much better than i expected them to be. Our confidence will grow with each game and very soon we will dominate control & finish off these types off games when everyone gels. Aguero for me was very quiet tonight, not bad but expected him on the ball much more, having said that i wouldn't start Aguero, Nasri & Silva in the same team in Munich! Saddens me to say it because he deserves his chance at CL football but Barry certainly won't do, Had De Jong been in the team tonight Napoli wouldn't have looked half as dangerous on the break, when Zabelata blocked their conter attack not long before the goal, Barry was as slow as a wet weak tracking back, the pace of Lavanni was too much for him for what started as a very denfendable attack for us Barry was left for dead & very nearly cost us even though he did soon afterwards but all in all a few minor tweeks to our play & we should quailify for the next round, all be it looks like we're playing for second already unless we pick up a point in Munich & 3 against them at home but with De Jong back in the team that can be possible to get.
