City v Napoli Post Match Discussion Thread

In a strange way I think this is just the start we needed. A lot of players looked shellshocked out there tonight....Nasri, Lescott,Barry, Joe Hart (looked the most shell shocked) and dare I say it Vinnie. Valuable lessons to be learned.

It was something like a team of foreigners playing their first game in the PL (maybe a little harsh). We got a result...could have been better but I hope Mancini takes the incentive and reinforces the wake up call that was dished out to us.

Well played Napoli btw...

How can Nasri be shellshocked? He's played at Arsenal in the Champions League for 3 years, in some of the biggest games in European football. Not least against Barcelona where they have won and lost.

We were far too open for my liking. Yaya cannot play in centre mid in that formation-he simply does not do enough when we dont have the ball. If we are to play with so many attacking players, with full-backs pushing so high up the pitch, we need Barry and DeJong to sit.

Yaya is superb with the ball but lazy without it. Fine when playing as he did last year in front of the midfield 2, but not in this formation.

I don't think Tevez gives a fuck anymore, apart from one burst into the box he did nothing in the game, anyone see and hear the comments about his warm up?And before anyone starts I thought the same when he fluffed that pen against Wigan.

Very disappointed we didn't win, home games need to be 3 points really. On the plus side Napoli are a top European outfit and they couldn't beat us. I can see Eastlands becoming a European fortress that teams fear in the future, just need a game or two to settle in what is after all fairly new.

I also predicted a sell out and was proved right.

tevez does care-he is just a bit rusty-needs time. No drama.

No, what were they?

Have not watched the video match yet but first impression after the match was, "Those people calling for De Jong's resignation from duty were wrong" as our midfield looked far too open and desperately needed an added general. We were a bit naive IMO and found out to an extent but both teams played well and it was a good match. CTID.
