Perhaps because he thinks Tevez won't be as effective on the right forward position and he doesn't think Lescott is up for an attacking full back role in a diamond system.

Tevez was really poor on the left side on thursday wan't he.

Lescott can not provide the same support as Zab can attacking wise down that left channel. I think it we should be positive about the system Mancini has put forward today and be optimistic.

What is it with this obsession of some posters about playing "attacking" football.

Would you be happy with a draw/loss as long as Mancini played "attacking" football?

Whether we win 1-0 or 6-0 its still 3 pts.

Mancini is playing to our strengths, even if we had Balotelli fit and Ade on song we wouldn't be playing 4-3-3 with 3 forwards on the pitch. Win the midfield, win the game, aka Chelski.

I happen to think the team he's put out will win 3 or 4 nil.
