4-3-3

The same formation we have been playing for ages..

So how is that the most negative team we could have fielded. What would you have done ??

I would have played:

--Milner---Yaya----Barry---

And then a front three out of four of Silva, Johnson, Tevez, Ade

Surprised we are playing a negative formation against a team like Newcastle...

Huh ?? Silva & milner both capable of scoring.....

Fancy Milner to open his account today (see post yesterday on another thread). 2-0. El Apache too. ;-)

I definitely agree that his opinion is wrong.

We have a normal lineup capable of dominating the game in the middle and people who long for the limp 442 with 2 wingers will always be disappointed as long as we have a sane manager in charge.

I dont long for that. All I want is 3 actual attacking players in the front 3 and milner to play in the middle. And to be really adventurous silva in the middle.

But that will force Barry/Yaya to be far more defensive than in our current system, so you can't say that it is more "positive" than this so-called "negative" side.

In this system, we will dominate the midfield and that's the crucial part of the game. We will win this. Stay positive!!!

So you would swap 1 player. Silva and Tevez already named. Ok.

I am positive and we will win no doubt. Just don't see why we have to play that team at home to newcastle

Only 1 team in the world can play with 3 forwards up front and that's Barca... and you want another 2 attacking midfielders just in behind them? To put this politely, just stick to football manager pal.

Its a negative set-up Sam. Against Chelsea at home then it is understandable but in games like this we should be playing with either 2 upfront or Silva & AJ both playing.

We could go for a more attacking lineup, but that doesn't mean this one is negative. If this lineup gets the fullbacks to push on it could be a very attacking system; but also with the best shape to do the work necessary when we don't have the ball.
