City v Saints post match

This match could have been plucked from last season's library and not looked out of place, from the slow start to the frantic scramble at the end, the pointless and/or too late subs in between, the 4-4-2 after Nacho came on. In the end, Pep has a lot of work to do to get this team playing consistently in the system he is trying to implement.

When its an out and out one man fuck up like today or Bravo its exactly that, a personal mistake and they happen.

Dont think we defended badly as a side today.
They are making mistakes due to what is being asked of them. Players misplace passes all over the pitch but when it occurs as it did today just outside our own box then trouble ensues. That is why most managers do not play this way.

Thought Stones, gundogen, silva, DeBruyne, Sterling and aguero were poor today. Silva, gundogen and Sterling improved in the 2nd half I thought but they all seemed to be struggling to do the basics right!

Whilst there was an improvement in the 2nd half it still wasn't good enough!

Taking all of that into account I'm happy with a point that takes us back to top spot and I don't think we'll have those players all have a bad day like that again, at least not all together any way!

We weren't at our best today but some of the childish tantrums around me slating the players was unbelievable- really need to be patient and stick together.

I think perhaps there is frustration still from last season?

Pep has been the goal for the club for many seasons and many were expected a big change - yet the club has lumbered him with many ageing or not good enough players and so we're seeing similar performances this season to last?

Not saying I agree fully btw.

Its still an individual error rather than a team or tactic issue imo and as for most managers......none of them have won 21 titles in the last 7 years ;-)

Players are down on confidence and we don't look that good at present.

Really giving away some poor goals as well and we don't have the sharpness around the box to punish teams.

5 games without a win is just not good enough considering the opponents.
