City v Shakhtar Post Match

I thought tonight was one of those occasions when our lesser talented players all performed admirably, whilst Jesus was anonymous, Aguero was trying too hard, and Silva in particular looked sluggish and subdued.
De Bruyne and Sane mixed brilliance with mediocrity, and it was probably the arrival of Sterling that gave us a bit more drive and purpose.
Well I for one am shocked you've dug Silva out. I presume you had your eyes closed in the second half.

Stones, Delph and Fernandinho were top class for us tonight too, the squad as a whole is improving, we'd have possibly drawn or lost that game last season.
One of them should change colour of his boots. Delphino and Fernandinho look like twins waching on Telly.

I feel like Gundogan and Bernardo have to start against Chelsea but I can't for the life of me work out who gets dropped.

That was a good game and Shaktar are a very decent team who ruffled our feathers in the 1st half. But well done City, very professional.
KDB is becoming the complete player. He is all over the pitch. He defends, tackles, passes, scores. He never runs out of energy. I have been going since the mid 60's and he's similar to Colin Bell.

Thought Shakhtar looked a really tidy team in the first half and made it a decent contest. Bodes well that we still took control of the game though and should have won by a much bigger margin in the end.

Encouraging performances all round though. Ederson was brilliant and Delph's performance should have calmed everyone's nerves about him stepping up in coming weeks. Gundogan looked class when he came on and KDB was running he show again. Stones looked really assured again too. Can't fault anyone really.

In the first half Shakhtar showed why we need to take these games seriously though and show these teams respect. Their win at Napoli ought to have been warning enough to those arguing we should rest half the team and still expect to win easily. Tonight was definitely not the kind of night to start throwing the likes of Foden into the team. Should play our strongest side against Napoli too as a win in that should allow us to concentrate on the league in the run up to Xmas.
Shaktar beat Napoli at Donetz

great t see gundogan back, keep him fit and its like signing a 50mil midfielder in todays market
