I can see everyone is keen for Rodwell to do well, as am I, but he didn't do anything today that de Jong doesn't do better.
The defence is better protected with nige.

Fair comments, but I suspect Rodwell will do the same as De Jong cheaper, for longer and with an English accent, all of which now seem important to us.

Hate to single out or pick on players, but i'm not sure this tippy tappy and often nifty passing stuff we play suits Dzeko style. Reckon he would bag a billion goals in a direct playing team (Sam Allardyce type), but not convinced he fits in at the 'mo.

I like the idea but possibly not in a season ...

I was thinking pretty much the same. Guess there could more more goals in Rodwell..........only time will tell.

He is also taller and a much bigger physical presence. Which Mancini seems to like in his defensive minded players. But he is only 21, he still has alot to learn and seemed very nervous at the beginning.
