City V Southampton post match discussion

Also on the plus side, the Saints will have their confidence really up now knowing they can mix it with the other big boys, so the manner of the win might have actually done us some favours rather than smashing them into rag dolly land in the first half before they got brave enough to try and play.. Watch out everyone! (else)

BIG reality check for the squad.

I agree with what Neville said before the game that it's not necessarily harder to retain the title. I believe that to be a "myth", and all froth and bubble from the papers.

In my opinion what happened is, we had a great pre-season, beat a full strength Chelsea (dominated them in my opinion, score line flattered Chelsea), and went into this game against the new guys with a sense of "turn and up we'll win". Not only that losing your star player so early on, and not putting away those early chances rumbled a few I think.

Eventually these things will be drummed into the players. You can't relax in this league, not for one minute against any team. It's clear the quality of the lower league teams and promoted teams gets better and better every seasons and the league gets tougher. The scum know this and it's instilled into their mentality. We, like every other team, have to learn these things the hard way.

The team is great, and has all the skill to move forward on this.

We won which is the main thing. Off to a good start with 3 points on the board. We'll know what to change and get right for the game at Anfield now!

Extremely scratchy performance in the second half.

Will have to tighten up at the back next Sunday.

Deserved the win on the balance of play but for them to score with the only two shots they had on target is disappointing and of some concern.

We made them look good today, our defence was all over the place.

Thought their fans were cunts the way they reacted to Segio's injury, cheering when it happened/booing when he was stretchered off.

And the "where were you when you were shit" garbage

Why do these medium sized, mid table teams sing shite like that?

Thats bollocks, they were lucky it wasn't 8 fucking nil. Webb helped them. Oh and thier fans were cunts cheering agueros injury. Cunts , hope they go straight back down.
This

And this hope Lallana breaks his leg

Thx for those offering support for my club. Thought we did well considering our back to back promotions and your recent title win.

I don't condone it if our fans were jeering Aguero's injury, would be sad to see such a class player out of action for any length of time. I do wonder whether part of it was sticking up for the abuse Clyne was getting for a perfectly good tackle.

After all the grief you lot have gone through over the years I hope your success lasts a while, just try not to forget where you've come from. Considering what happened to us I can sympathise. Hopefully in a couple of seasons we can have a bit of that success for ourselves.

I was told, though I am not an ITK, that Aguerro was going for a scan, there was no mention of cruciate, just that it wasn't his knee but just below the knee.
ITK its on the fucking OS.lol.
*lol* I was told by a City official as I left the ground, not looked at the OS yet. But thanks for that............ :-)

Spot on.

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Anyone see the ginge run off crying just before half time?

Re: Congratulations Southampton

They played supremely well when you consider they are promoted and playing the champions, and nearly embarrassed us. Their counterattacks reminded me of when Napoli did us, we really need to learn to defend against counters as QPR did us off one too.
