City v Southampton post match thread

Re: Southampton post match thread

4-1 we deserved it FFS. Sure they dominated first half and had an offside decision that led to a goal against them but c'mon on, we scored the others fairly. And could have a lot more. Dzeko and negredo missed a 2 good chances each. It's not like we were devoid of any other good goal opportunities.

Dippers moaning about "Oil Money"

One guy on RAWK said "the way City are playing we will destroy them at Anfield"

Why should they care? They've already won the league!!

Re: Southampton post match thread

Job done for this week.

Hope Yaya and silva are 100% for liverpool.

Also hope Aguero can have 20 mins if he is not starting, would give pool defenders nightmares.

The title is still a long way to go, but next game will definitely make a huge difference for both teams.

Liverpool catching us on goal difference as well, the season will be really close and might come down to goal difference again.

Hope we take points off liverpool and chelsea do too.

That first half was unacceptably poor and against a top 4 team we'd have been dead and buried.

If we saunter around like that against Liverpool they'll definitely give us a new bumhole.

Goals 2 and 3 came like a gift from above. We were being totally dominated at that point. Silva was clearly miles offside for the 2nd. Fortune was definitely smiling on us in that mad little period.

2nd half we were excellent. Totally bossed the game and got our usual game going really well.

Much of this was the fact we were 3-1 up but also the change MP made where Garcia came on and 'plugged' the gaping hole we left in the 1st half made a significant difference. Garcia, again, played very well and delivered MP's requirements with assured confidence and professionalism.

Silva was ethereal. 1000% one of the best players on the planet.

Kolarov was outstanding. What a fucking player this lad has become under MP.

Let's see if the scousers shit themselves tomorrow.

That's the nature of football , its the goals that matter.

We could play as poorly against Liverpool next Sunday and be 3-1 up at half time like today.

All we can is win our games like Edin said after the game.

Re: Southampton post match thread

The introduction of Garcia at half time was the difference today. A soft penalty and an offside goal hid a lot of what was wrong in the first half. If we play the same starting midfield at anfield we can kiss the title goodbye. As good as Ferna is, he does not sit and protect the defence, he likes to get forward which is fine if Yaya sits back and covers. Demichelis was good again, Jovetic looks lively and will play a big part in the remaining games but David Silva is a class above everyone.

Re: Southampton post match thread

Thought your boys were going to have a wobble today after the goal because you looked like you were coasting again but you pulled it out of the bag.

Any of the Klanfield lot go on about offside goals and conspiracies, just remind them how offside Skrtel was for the 1st goal against us and why Stevie Mee wasn't sent off in his last 2 games.

They are just worried big Andy Carroll is going to bully their error prone, soft as sh*te back line.

You need to make sure you win the league. The thought of Stevie Mee or chavvy Terry lifting the trophy turns my stomach

Couldnt ask for much more. 3 points and a boost to the gd. Hope everyone is fit for next week.

Couldn't ask for more from the lads today. Has given us breathing room for the game v the Scousers...Silva on another planet today. More of the same next week Dave!

Get home and see bt sports saying if we didn't get the offside goal we would never have had the second half we did ?

Dipper propaganda out in full force I see

Absolutely, and for all their possession, Southampton had one shot on target the whole game. When we went a goal up we looked to sit back, soak up some pressure and hit them on the break, like we did in several games earlier in the season. Even though it's a bit scary when the other team has a lot of the ball, they didn't look that likely to score until the penalty.
