We're going to have to put two good halves of football together to get anything from Anfield, not just the one like we have been doing of late. Though granted it's as much about doing only what you need to at this stage of the season.

Re: Southampton post match thread

When did BT Sport, or anyone else for that matter, start playing replays of a contentious incident to a manager in the post match interview????

Did Moyes get played the replay of Shrek's pathetic dive??? Did he fuck!?

Re: Southampton post match thread

the only disappointment was Negredo not managing to score from the two good chances he had pity really because that's all he needs to get his confidence back Pellegrini must decide whether to start with Aguero next week , or from the bench as he is short of match fitness either way its going to be one hell of a game next week

Re: Southampton post match thread

The level of game will rise against dippers ..it will be totally different team performance next week.

Saints played really neat football in the first half and were really unlucky to go in 3-1 down at half time. We got lucky with the offside decision but after half time we completely bossed it. Silva was magic again and MDM remains in good form. Garcia also looked decent which is good to see. 4-1 against a good team is a cracking result and means that in the last 5 since we lost to Barca we have won 4 and drawn 1.
We certainly did, but I'm surprised none of the commentators or pundits (in the US at least) pointed out that from the linesman's position, it would have been hard to see Dzeko's touch - it probably looked like it rebounded off the Southampton player. Obviously no way he'd have missed the position Silva was in, and even a bent linesman wouldn't try to get away with one as clearly offside as that.

Re: Southampton post match thread

Well done Steve Mac on BT for making the obvious point in response to the Southampton's manager's claim that the second goal "killed the game" They had 45 mins to get back in the game.

BT are treating the second goal on a par with the assassination of Kennedy

Re: Southampton post match thread

That first half was unacceptably poor and against a top 4 team we'd have been dead and buried.

If we saunter around like that against Liverpool they'll definitely give us a new bumhole.

Goals 2 and 3 came like a gift from above. We were being totally dominated at that point. Silva was clearly miles offside for the 2nd. Fortune was definitely smiling on us in that mad little period.

2nd half we were excellent. Totally bossed the game and got our usual game going really well.

Much of this was the fact we were 3-1 up but also the change MP made where Garcia came on and 'plugged' the gaping hole we left in the 1st half made a significant difference. Garcia, again, played very well and delivered MP's requirements with assured confidence and professionalism.

Silva was ethereal. 1000% one of the best players on the planet.

Kolarov was outstanding. What a fucking player this lad has become under MP.

Let's see if the scousers shit themselves tomorrow.

The main thing is we have looked a million times better away from home. We did what was needed at Arsenal but the performances at Hull and the scum were oustanding. I think we can get the win next week, they have to cope with the pressure that is on them as well and we should be able to handle it, Liverpool also have to win tomorrow anyway.

Re: Southampton post match thread

Don't understand yaya running half the pitch, beating 3 players, to just throw himself to ground once inside the box.. Anyway good enough to win but how many missed chances, let's hope Sergio doesn't miss any next week!
