City v Southampton Post Match Thread

Thing I like about our team today .
Was the high energy to get the ball .
Nasri really impressed me today .
No passengers today we played like the CHAMPIONS we are !!!

Yaya caught dawdling on the ball a couple of times and the last one cost Mangala a red card. He frustrates the fuck out of me. He largely played at a walking pace all game slowing our attacks consistently.
I was willing Pellegrini to take him off and then he gets the goal. Soon after I was willing him to be taken off again !

Yaya made a few mistakes but he still ran the game.

More than Southampton being below par city were top quality today, a team like saints at there home ground is very tough ,not many teams would find the joy of playing like we did there so hats of to city
Mangala would get alot of stick by ppl but i still firmly believe we bought a potentially a top cb who would come good eventually, and he was kinda sold down the river by yahya for the second yellow ,and he is improving ,we should have a word with new york lads about lamps ,we simply cant afford to let him leave mid season
overall a great weekend , im interested to know the opinion of those who were handing chelsea the title

Clueless.

best performance this season. dominated them from the get go. in-spite of an inept/corrupt ref

we've now won at goodison and saint mary's, hope we can continue that towards stadium of light

Yaya cannot start at CB. we'll get murdered. most likely sagna will start

finally Pellers sees sense in starting fern along with Yaya and not nando.

Fern also getting back to his best

sublime from aguero for creating two goals and should have had the penalty, small (maybe too picky) complaint is that he should have finished one of those two chances

Yaya better but still dawdles on the ball deep a bit too much for my liking. got caught again like against ramsey last season. dont blame Mangala at all. but the press will twist it

Kompany should be put on a similar regime as to aguero (his hammy troubles him too much, well i am no doctor but this should have been sorted)

Nasri worked hard but we lack silva's creativity

Lampard and aguero, what a combo that can be. he is really good at finding those over the top balls for sergio, wish Yaya would do that more often

Magnificent result. – How did The Saints only have 1 goal against them at home this season.?
At first I thought if the refs have been like the one today ? – not giving nailed on penalty – that is why.
Special mention for Nasri who had a very good game. Clichy – right foot rocket – Get in.
Lampard – god – wish he was younger !. Mangala – what can I say – stupid foul – but he is young enough to improve. He is a “beast” of a player – strong. Komps. might be out for a few games – Is it a calf or hamstring?.
It could (should?) have been 6 today. The ''penalty'' (no guarantee it would have been scored of course, but it should have been awarded), Jojo's effort cleared off the line and (for him) Sergio missing an absolute sitter.
