my team would be

--------hart-------------

zabba kompany lescott clichy

-------barry----garcia-------

------------yaya-----------

tevez------balo---------kun

id play lescott instead of nastic as defoe is a very dangerous player (one ive always rated) and i think he might be a bit too clever for nastic at the moment

ideally id play milner with barry but he is unavailable

clichy must play witht he pace of lennon

zabba against bale as we know how it turned out last time maicon played against bale!!!!

ask kun and tevez to work their socks off ad press the opposition back four especially in the wide areas

Bale on City:

Gareth Bale insists the players will 'give their all' to bring a positive result back from City on Sunday.

The flying Welshman was at his unstoppable best in Thursday night's 3-1 win against NK Maribor in the Europa League and is determined to take that form to the Etihad Stadium.

Gareth provided assists for two of Jermain Defoe's three goals against the Slovenian champions and gave full-back Martin Melic a torrid time down the left flank.

He showed exactly the same form when we were last at the Etihad, when his spectacular 25-yarder into the top corner levelled the scores at 2-2 in the second half after we'd trailed 2-0.

He almost combined with Jermain again in injury time to win the match but then City broke up the other end, were awarded a penalty and won a thriller 3-2 in the 94th minute.

City remain unbeaten but Gareth believes we can take our form from Thursday night back into the Premier League.

"We needed the right reaction after the weekend and we certainly did that," said Gareth. "The lads are delighted and we’ve got to maintain that form now going into the Premier League.

"This is another big game. We went there last season, gave them a good run for their money and probably should have won, but it wasn’t to be.

"We’ll go back up there full of confidence again after playing well against Maribor.

"We know it will be very difficult on Sunday and we’ll give it our all. We’ve played well away, we'll prepare right and hopefully we'll get the right result."

The vibes im getting from city fans we will be lucky to get a draw tommorow.Look lets stop feeling sorry for are selves and give Spurs a good thumping tommorow like Brian Hortons team did in 1994 5-2

Guy Mowbray on his BBC preview of the game says he can't see much to separate us and Spurs on the quality of the starting line up. Now with all due respect to Spurs, our strike force is miles better than theirs on paper. Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko vs Defoe and Adebayor. In the middle they are without Dembele I think Yaya should boss.

They are a good team and have players, notably Bale, who can hurt any side. But we should still have too much at home.

You could change a name to another player in any other side and you would get the same article covering every game in any league verbatim.

Only the places have changed to protect the innocent.

I was hoping he was going to say that no matter how well we play we haven't got a hope in hades of beating them.

They cannot be beaten at home and I guarantee you City will wipe the floor with us.

I will be happy if we lose 5-1 like last season at home.

Didn't Milner keep Bale quiet in the England vs. Wales game? Not sure if he will be fit though. If we don't double up on Bale's side that is tactical suicide, the lad has three or four lungs and was still sprinting half the pitch after 75 minutes against fookin' Maribor the other night.

Browsing the Man City fan forums you'll find the majority of them are confident of giving us a beating, whilst a few are warning against complacency.

And if you thought Spurs "fans" booing the team at half time was bad, almost unbelievably, there are some Man City fans that are questioning whether Mancini should keep his job due to their dire performances in the Champions League.

That's the same Mancini who won them the top division title for the first time since 1968 and is unbeaten in this years league. I'm sure like us, it's a minority of discontented fans, but if you want to have a conversation about the fickle nature of football nowadays, that has to be top of the agenda.
"It would be nice to put a nail in AVB's coffin, instead of making one for Mancini."

Other, more (and less) sensible quotes below:

"Looking forward to the game! But be extremely disappointed with anything other than 3 points as spurs arent in the form that they were when we played them at home last season"

"Spurs looked dire against Wigan, beware the wounded beast, they owe their fans a good performance."

"Spurs will raise their game just like they did against United."

"Spurs are gobshite fans who seriuosly have a problem with us due to the fact they we have fooked up their champions league chances." - False, if we have a grievance against anyone, it's Chelsea.

"Spuds seemed to have alot of luck down the wings last night with Bale, so expect the same on sunday.. Defoe has now got his eye in, and will be looking to score plenty at the weekend.."

"Mancini, don't play Maicon and we will win this game."
