City v Steaua post match.

There was one moment in the second half where Yaya had the ball as City were breaking away and it looked like he was going on one of his storming runs but he was half a yard off his old pace. I think he's done. Thanks for goals like the one against Villa at the end of the 2014 title winning season, for some stunning free kicks, and for the winner in the Cup Final and the two goals at Newcastle. And for one of the best City songs.
I second all that.

i had my worries before tonight regarding up front ,and although i hope the kids injury is short term .past experiences with the `delicate `and frankly injury prone Sergio plus the impending departure of Bony ,will leave us short If we do manage to sell Bony, a consideration must be to see whats available before the window shuts I might incur the wrath of some ,but before his injury tonight the kid was almost unnoticeable to the one who came on at Stoke He hasnt found any consistency ( im sure it will come with time) But i would think our chances will be restricted if we lose Aguero for any length of time, with what we currently have in terms of cover for him
Sorry mate got to disagree. Kelechi fed off scraps. Put 3/4 of kdb, silva, sterling, sane or nolito feeding him and I believe he will be fine. Delph and Fernando are creatively poor. Yayas come to an end now, couldn't see or execute the killer passes tonight maybe for good and navas was shite. He once again showed class to set the goal up with a clever pass to navas, couldn't have done much more tonight in my opinion. He will bag 20 goals in all comps this season.

Me and my mate was talking after the game about Joe and how Pep wants are keepers to play.
He wants are keeper to be a third centre half and that's why joe, will never be good enough..
Thats how good our keeper as to be. He wants the team to play 11 against 10 in open play that's including the keeper
It's like having an extra player on the pitch

Dire match, dire atmosphere.

Agreed. I only watched tonight to see how some of the youngsters got on. Maffeo? Lightweight, and a long, long way behind Zab and Sagna. Angelino? Saw nothing to get me excited. Really, one of the most boring games I've had the misfortune to watch.

Never thought I'd ever say this but Kolarov was MoTM for me. He was superb and ran the game from deep in defence. Felt sorry for Yaya, he tried hard but a lack of game time and age caught up with him. I still say he'd be better off in a deep lying role or as a central defender in Pep's new formation because even with his lack of stamina he's still quicker than Kolarov and if he can be transformed, so can Yaya.

On another note, tonight was calling out for that special creativity which we sorely lacked. Nasri would have been perfect, but alas it looks like the 3 biggest mouths in our dressing room are deemed surplus to requirements, so it looks like adios to Hart, Nasri & Yaya. I'm gutted for them and don't necessarily agree but who am I to argue with Guardiola.

As for the match, it was standard dead rubber fare. Steaua obviously came with damage limitation in mind. We faced a wall of bodies and rarely threatened much, but I suppose this match was more about making up for the lack of a proper pre-season and having a look at our alternatives. But if 2 things were made plainly obvious tonight it is our lack of strength in depth in the striking department and our lack of central creativity outside of Silva which is why selling Nasri without a direct central creative replacement makes no sense whatsoever.

Anyway we qualified so onwards and upwards.

Bournemouth you say. Mmmmmmmmmmmm !!

Before this tosspot has figured out what he is going to reply with; I am in my 50s, was born in South Manchester, lived in Dalton Avenue (if you know where that is), and hung around Maine Rd, getting autographs from the likes of Colin Bell and Franny Lee.
Still, we can't all be Super Blues, can we?

a bit of a non event as expected , excellent attendance for a virtual non competitve match , and nice that Joe got good send off for his probable move away from the club , Delph did OK and Stones is looking better every game , but sad to see Yaya so far off the pace , just proves that time catches up with all of us. The Lager in Mary D's has'nt improved either , will be back in the Summerbee bar when i attend the Bournemouth game.

Why can`t we all be Super Blues ?? I merely raised the point due to your unfounded knocks at two youngsters who put on a brave display in a competition that neither had played in before and all you can do is slag them both off.
They`re kids for fucks sake and you come on here acting ragyish and you wonder why someone questions your allegiances ?
