I'd go Demichelis over Lescott as I'd expect us to have pretty much all the ball (although I'd have no qualms whatsoever about Lescott playing). Kolarov or Clichy is touch and go - I'd usually always choose Clichy for the bigger matches, but I'd go Kolarov here purely because Nasri will naturally drift inside, and so we may well need the extra width going forward.

Presumably games like next week are where we see the benefits of increasingly having contracts tied to win/trophy bonuses. The pleasure of wearing the jersey and playing at Wembley should be enough, but the extra incentive shouldn't hurt.

I do not get the inference here of players not trying - we have not been fluent in every game, yesterday being a prime example, but we have worked VERY FUCKING hard to be where we are this season, all season

There is no inference. We're in the final and fighting on all fronts because we've worked hard and one factor in this is that the club has structured contracts to make it thus.

Lets just forget about Aguero shall we? Hell start with Negredo Aguero up front and Milner will start over Navas.

Aguero's not played any football for a month or so, would be a big risk to start him. All the more so as we so desperately need him for the run-in in the other competitions.

So I'd by no means forgotten about him, but thanks for the facetious comment.

A possible factor is that, unlike with Wigan last year, who were in Europe regardless of the result, Sunderland have to win to get into Europe for possibly the only time in the next few years. That is bound to be some kind of added motivation.

For Yanks . . . best I can tell, the final is not on TV in the USA . . . can that be right? Just listed as a Sirius XM radio game. Would hate to have to find a dumpy stream for a Cup final.
I have been wondering the same. If anyone could offer a website to go to, that would be great.

There will be a stream thread up right before the match. Surprised BEIN isn't carrying it -- they carried the semis.

I doubt it

_____________Negredo/Dzeko

Can't decide between Negredo and Dzeko. Negredo is better but he's been awful in his last few games, Aguero and Navas on off the bench.
