City v Sunderland Pre Match Thread (CoC Final)

Got to agree, I think Negredo is getting some unfair criticism. He held the ball up well against Barcelona but he didn't have many players running off him and using his power. Aguero forged a good relationship with him, he knew where to go and Negredo knew where he was and found him regularly. They moved well off each other. With Dzeko it is more difficult. Both Dzeko and Negredo would play well with a quicker player off them, they are similar in their style of play.

I would play Negredo over Dzeko not as well as. I would have Nasri, Silva and Milner in behind.

I find it hard to understand why most of the teams above include Negrado - after all for the last 4 games he has been pretty much invisible.
Great player till his injury but seemingly a passenger at the moment.

This , all day , BA , but ATM we are fookin short on strikers...

maybe the formula of one up top
5 midfield, including Garcia in fotn of the bac 4 to free up Yaya is the way to go...

Jovetic still an unknown level of injury; Negredo seemingly nursing a longer term shoulder / pyschological blow; Dzecko the definition of inconsistant,
Kun on at the crucial moment second half... start with Edin I guess...

I dont get why people are saying Kun second half. Hell be in full training TOMORROW, so why he isnt starting in everyones XI is beyond me. Yes hes just come back from injury, but this game is played on Sunday, 6 days after hes been declared fit.

And those saying too rest him are insane, this is a cup final and as Samir has pointed out, will have a major say on our confidence for the rest of the season.

He has been out a long time, having come back from an injury and then got the same injury pretty quickly after his return. We have to go to places like anfield, emirates, swamp, badison and we need him fit for those games. We can win the league cup without him, it is much less likely we will win the league without him, risking that, now that would be fucking insane

Get the game won with Kun in the first half then sub him instead of maybe bringing him on to chase the game.

and what happens if it is nil nil (or worse) after 45, 60 mins, do you keep him on and take an even greater risk on ending his season? Fortunately Manuel is no mug

Looking forward to this.we are more than capable of winning this without aguero IMO.would like to see him come off bench with half hour left with us on top hopefully.this will give him some much needed game time ahead of the fa cup tie where he should be unleashed on poor Wigan.apart from that fittest and strongest team possible please:-
Probably play pants
Zabba kompany MDM Kolarov
Silva yaya fernandinho nasri
Negredo dzeko

The only people who will be deciding if Aguero is fit to play and for how long,
are Manuel and his medical staff. These people aren't idiots and aren't going
to risk him at this late stage of the season. Especially after having to do so against
Watford. Once bitten twice shy and all that.

Win, any win, by hook or by crook, even on penalties please! Full strength team, aggressive ,aggressive, aggressive, leave as little as possible to chance.

Thankyou,
Traumatised from FA cup final ;)

Wembley is a big pitch so no need to worry about the midfield getting too congested as I imagine they will play 5 in midfield and Fletcher up front on his own.

Anything but Negredo and Dzeko up front together would see us playing fast flowing football. I think if we play them both against O'Shea and Brown we will be playing into their hands.

Pants

Zabba Vinny MDM Kolarov

Yaya Ferna

Jimmy Nasri Silva

Dzeko/Negredo

Navas, Sergio and Dzeko/Negredo to come on if we need a goal or Garcia on if we need to shore things up.

Perfect situation for us would be to be comfortable and to not have to use Sergio at all, maybe a run out if the games over.

Unless we score early it's going to be a pretty boring game where Sunderland park the bus slow play down dive and cheat but I have no complaints about that you do all you can to win a trophy! It's up to us to go hard at them from the 1st whistle to the last..

As far as I know Brown is out due to red card and 3 match ban, he has played really well against us the past few games!

The League game the other week that was called off meant he misses the final, that's what I heard anyway, can anybody else confirm?
