Hand on heart, who went into the FA Cup final last season expecting to win? Not a show of arrogance to admit it, more an acknowledgment that we had the superior side and beating Wigan was a forgone conclusion. I admit I was expecting a win, and for some reason i've not learned my lesson this time either :-)

Was nailed on for me against Wigan and if we don't commit the same mistake by underestimating Sunderland its nailed on again with bigger nails.. ;-)

Let's be honest we are playing their fans. Their team is hopeless. Their fans, as we know, are a far different matter.

Using a lump hammer to make sure they are properly nailed in .

With you there, Pige. Although I'm sure the players won't want that feeling again and have something to prove following the Wigan fiasco.

The team certainly owe the fans after last year's shockingly limp performance.

As they will be playing ours, as well as a vastly superior team (if it fires)
Hoping the atmosphere lifts our players in the same fashion and they play without any fear of losing, if we can do that it will be another great day for City.

City - 116 x 78 yards
Rags - 116 x 76
Stoke - 115 x 75
Newcastle - 115 x 74.4
Swansea - 115 x 74.4
West Brom - 115 x 74
Arsenal 114 x 74
Sunderland 114 x 74
Wigan 114 x 74

Wembley - 115 x 75

That extra couple of feet either side will just mess with their heads all day long. They'll keep stopping short as though some invisible dog fence is at work and we can saunter past them blowing raspberries.

I really do hope we are switched on for this game - last year a vast majority thought City would win. We all know now why we didn't. A combination of Mancini , leaks just before the game, press statements etc. Mancini's body language was really poor.
Then we look at 2011 League Cup final - Arsenal v. Birmingham City - 1-2 to B/City Hopeful ball forward and the Arse keeper lets it slip through into the net. Right at the end.
Come on City lets beat Sunderland 3/4 -1.

That's what we are capable of and we are all hoping we can deliver it, I think it would be another springboard for us to get a resounding win on Sunday, Im sure the players will remember last May and let rip with all their talents. cant wait for it, especially with the Sunderland fans being there, they will raise the roof for their team, its going to be a truly awesome day..!

MUST win game; first trophy of the season and a big confidence booster - which is what we need right now

STRONGEST team, please Manuel.............

Joe

Zabba Demi Vinnie Aleksander

Ferna Yaya

Samir Merlin

Beast Kun ( SURELY he will be fit ?? )

Although Pants has been playing the Cup games, imo he's not been at his best and we need Joe has played well for some time; also, Kola over Gael; I think he provides more of a scoring opportunity with his accurate crosses and, of course, free kicks.....

Subs

Pants
CLiche
Lescott
Micah
Jesus
Milner
Edin

We have enough attacking options with Jesus, Jimmy and Dzeko on the bench to win this.............get at them quick and score early although Gus will have different ideas...............

In an odd kind of way, I'd rather we played our fittest eleven as opposed to our necessarily best eleven. The sight of someone being rushed back and then hobbling off after ten minutes would be a surefire fillip for Sunderland and could set us back in the coming weeks.
