And United, after the opening 20 minutes.
They say play the game, not the occasion.
I have to ask the question, would there be any doubts if Sunderland were playing Barca or Bayern this weekend at Wembley?
That's the current levels City are at and while the same could be said for Wigan, last year, it's clear there will be no excuses for us this time.
I have genuine affection for Sunderland fans and hope they stay up.
There's a fine line between arrogance and belief but I won't be surprised to see us get three or four, once the game settles down.
It's a funny one, we're all a little afraid of the typical city of the past and no amount of success, good management and great players will quite extinguish the fear completely. The Wigan game last year will play on supporters minds a little on Sunday. Our poor(ish) recent record against Sunderland will no doubt be mentioned over and over again between now and Sunday.
The fact is we are player for player a much better side then Sunderland. Their best player was a bit part performer for us, they are jammed with faded rags. They have, in fairness, some players who can still lift their game and produce occasional big performances (Brown, AJ and Fletcher) but that's it.
They will hope for one of two things on Sunday- either they score early and try and play it like the match earlier in the season or it stays scoreless long enough to give them belief for a sucker punch like Wigan last year, or 2 of the 3 recent defeats away to Sunderland.
For me the biggest factor this weekend may well be the return of Fernandinho, as it's no coincidence he missed the game at the Stadium of Light and that game was the nearest to some of last season's poor away performances.
It's a big game for us, Pellegrini especially, but without sounding arrogant if we turn and play as we know we can, we will win.
