City v Swans post match thread

When I say they need pre seaseason, I mean like they did pre season, getting together & organising a formation & tactics & a defence, not running up hills & doing pressups.
"Pre-season" was the wrong phrase then. They need rest and recuperation, which is pretty much the opposite. As for a meeting, I would imagine they do that several times a week, but yeah they could do with discussing the shambles that is currently our defending, but more than anything we need to find a way of getting some leadership onto the pitch, because currently there is none. We've had the spine of the team either out or just back since early September, no team would cope with that, no team, and yet here we are still at the top, its actually quite remarkable we've stayed up there with these injuries to our key players. The next 8 days are a huge bonus at this time, hopefully they will be used well.

Get fucking in!! About time we won a game with the ball coming off someones arse.. Well done Nacho, for being in the right place at the right time:)

Imo this squad should be able to function easily without those players. Not if we play Bayern or Barca perhaps, but Stoke & Swansea ?

According to Kompany etc, they had a players' meeting after the pre season catastrophie & talked everything through. The result was the start we had to the season.

Now is a perfect time to do it. We have a full week to discuss stuff & work on it & no games, just rest. It's perfect.

Mangala seems mentally weak, so Kompany/Zabba need to have a word with Otamendi & get him playing like the player he is supposed to be, not getting nudged off the ball by 5ft 6 forwards & playing like Kit Symons' shitter brother.

This whole season is there for the taking. Chelsea are a way better side than any of our close rivals, it's wide open for us.

The angle I was watching from is behind Yaya & it looked like an absolute golazo from there. But it'll certainly do. This kind of shit has kept the rags in the top area for quite a few seasons now.

Poor by city. Any team that works hard without the ball and has legs in the MF give us a game. We don't work hard enough without the ball

This is going to be an interesting conundrum for the next manager to solve, because imo it's been the case for years. Mancini's team masked it by being more solid in the middle, but we have never had a side which can really compete in that area. We've had the strength & power but never the workrate. The current (lack of) system just highlights it.

Dont fall over but i completely agree on the work rate issue.

Great sides work as hard off the ball as they do on it and it only happens currently when they can be arsed it seems.

Bob suffered from it and so too does Pellegrini.

It has to change and Txiki needs to make sure it does when it comes to recruiting the right players who not only have the skill, they also have the stomach for the fight.

This is word for word exactly what my mate said when walking to car from match yesterday. I don't think Yaya can play as a 2 MF. Don't think we have the players to play a barca style pressing game , there has to be a halfway house though. The non pressing and harrying just invites pressure hence our Centre backs having to rush out more than they should
