If that equates to "main target" then thats your opinion, but i'd say you're talking tripe then. If someone who disagrees with me would like to explain why they paid more for Keane, got him so quick? Transfer request is rubbish; both Villa and Barry were ready to do a deal.

Still, unlike Terry and Chelsea, Barry wouldn't have played as large a role at Liverpool.

If Barry was such a main target, so important to Liverpool, they would have got him. Just like they got Keane, just like they got Johnson.

l'pool put the same bid in as us, but wanted to pay it over the terms of his contract,villa fucked them off.
The rags wanted tevez to stay but thought because they are THE rags they could fuck him about & do it on their terms,wrong.

People are amking too much of Liverpool's financial situation.

Torres - 25mil
Keane - 20mil
Johnson - 16-18mil all in the last few seasons.

Arrogance doesn't come into it too much i don't think. Negotiation, sure but if the player is good enough to make a real impact at a top four club both sides are sually quite quick.

Look how quick Madrid sealed all their deals up.

Everybody knows Barry was the dipper's main target. Gerrard & Benitez have made that pretty obvious too, hence the fat little shite still whinging about it after all this time.

Liverpool spent a lot of time trying to get Barry in, it's only cos of their tight purse strings that they haven't got him. Only reason the fee for Johnson was so high was cos they waived a good chunk of the Peter Crouch fee

Rafa's 'Money money money' comment proves that we really pissed him off by signing barry, he's not happy to have missed out on him.
