My worry is can he rev these players up, I mean two goal advantage going to Monaco and we froze, semi final of Fa cup and go down without a wimper, I think too many players freeze, don't get up or go missing,( call it what you like )in the big games this year, we can blame refs etc., but we have not been good enough and apart from vinnie there is no one to rev them up on the pitch either. Too predictable too slow side to side easy to park the bus against.hope they prove me wrong and smash the rags but I'm fearing the worst again.

Good points and in the post you replied to. There's absolutely no doubt we're a better footballing side but then again as you say, where's the leadership apart from Kompany. I'd play Zabaleta in this one, he'd fire us up and definitely Kompany and Ottamendi with Clichy at left back.

We've all lost a bit of confidence and some are showing an over-reaction but Pep will have us up for Thursday. I know which position I'd rather be in.

If past derby form goes by anything then united will go searching for an early goal in about the first 20mins. Once that period is over regardless of whether they have scored or not then maureen will revert to his usual tactic of sitting deep and looking to either counter or lump it up top.

As Pep has said time and time again, The players themselves need to believe that they are better. A derby is a cagey affair regardless of form, but we are at home and we should win this one imo. What we need is a reaction and everyone to produce, not just the odd player to turn up and produce because you can bet that united will be drilled by maureen. Us fans have a massive part to play in this game as well, the noise level needs to reach the maximum to put pressure on the scum.

We just need a Mike Bassett style team talk from Pep 'We're better than the Mexicans', come on Kun, say it with me 'We're better than the Mexicans'.

I do feel we are going into panic mode here a little. We are the better side without doubt and if (I know its a big if) we can stick to our game plan and take the chances we will create then we should beat them.

I think Pep has to have a plan B for this one. We've seemed a bit too one dimensional at times this season; great going forward, but shaky at the back.

We have to fathom out their game plan early doors and react accordingly. If that means we have to drop back into 2 solid banks of 4 with one up top occasionally then so be it. I really wont give a flying f**k how we played if at the final whistle if we finish with the goal tally in our favour.
I would like that but i don't think it will happen, pep way or nothing

Pep will absolutely totally, 100% not want to get done over by maureen especially with the teams so close to each other in the league. I doubt he gets the meaning of the game to the fans, outside of those criteria, but I'm hoping the players are able to instil it in themselves.

It would be difficult for the players to raise themselves for any other game, but this is at home against them.

I just hope it's not the same poor show from last year.

Has anyone mentioned the rags being better without "big nose"?

I don't accept this premise. They have more pace of course with Rashford but he is nowhere near as prolific as Big Nose.
They will be less dangerous at crosses and set pieces and way less likely to score a speculative strike out of the blue which
is a hallmark of his. He is a player for the big occasion. Rashford goal last year was the direct result of shite defending not great play. Do the basics right and he will find it hard to score. Add to this the fact that they will have less firepower to bring off the bench with Zlat missing. I for one am glad he is out but would like to wish all the best during the recovery process. He may be a git but I don't like to see any player suffer serious injury.

I just think the pressures on utd to get a result, they won't want that exaggerated "unbeaten" run being ended by City.
So queue 11 man defence and try to get us on the break. Would not be surprised if they tried to get all the subs and Maureen on as well.
