City v West Brom post match thread

West Brom had no shots on target.

Where was Sun Jihai when they need him ;)

Never ever forget that game, always think of it if the opposition get no shots. I dont think I have ever been as pissed off as that coming away from any game.

That's the sipirit !
Mathematically we are only three points behind the chavs, even if they have two fixtures to play ( and one being one game in hand ), actually they could very well collapse mentally and struggle with that last trench of games before May.
Let us keep the pressure on them, grinding results after results.

It was the second case of apparent mistaken identity in the Premier League in less than a month, following Wes Brown's red card at Old Trafford for a foul by his Sunderland team-mate John O'Shea.
On this occasion it was debatable whether it was a sending-off at all but City, reeling from their Champions League exit against Barcelona and desperately short of domestic form, were not complaining.

Bevan Prick. How was it debatable? Clear last man, clear goal-scoring opportunity, thus clear red. Only fuck up was the wrong player sent off.

Strangely you would have to think that the sending off probably didn't affect the West Brom tactics all that much. They would have set up very defensively and tried to frustrate us anyway. The only difference was that they didn't have the capacity to mount any decent breaks.

Has Pulls mentioned how much we spent yet by the way?

about as close to a freebie as you are likely to get in the premier league but can't complain about that they did their jobs. wouldnt read too much into it tho regarding form.

we won thought we were too wasteful and we should have bagged a hat full

watching the Le Arse gamete passing and tempo of the game is a fuckin long way from what we saw today regardless of the result

Bony did well

Just got back and the main thing for me today was a glimpse into life after Yaya. Yes the sending off did have a bearing on the result, but for me we looked far more balanced today and the team used Silva as the axis rather than Yaya and this gave us more threat. 43 attempts shows a decent effort. Thought Bony took his goal really well and his relief was evident. We shall hopefully see the best of him now. I also thought Lampard played well just by doing the simple things and constantly moving once he had passed the ball. Main order of business should be buying a 22 year old Lampard type and a midfielder with pace. Today's fullbacks are always my preferred choice and we must look to have two young eds players as backup rather than the two overpaid ones in Sagna and Kolarov. Mangala can also play as a fullback in emergency so we need to ditch this two for every position nonsense. Overall a much better day. Beer, City win and House of Cards marathon = happy boy!
