No he wasn't.

He was caught out of position 3 times in the first half and didn't put a singly good cross in. He is one of our weakest players.

we have too many "generous" players , grafter , fighter , call them as you like , that unfortunally lack class

Nah mate, Carlos ran his socks off and I reckon Bob had told him to do that and he would be hooked after 65 mins.

Saying that though, Dzeko did fook all for his 25/30 mins on the pitch.....

I just think he is the sort of player that wont last past 30. The amount of effort he puts in to closing down. He should be rested more often IMO.

i've said before that bob's substitutions worry me, taking tevez off tonight was sheer madness.

Nah mate, Carlos ran his socks off and I reckon Bob had told him to do that and he would be hooked after 65 mins.

dont think its are left backs job to get the crosses in and create the goals do you, dont remember him being caught out of position but ive not watched it back, anyway ill change it to imo, heart, hunger, drive, wish it was catching

These formations are bonkers.

We have no outlet, we have no width, we create no chances.

Aguero is highlighting how wasteful he was last season now we don't have an abundance of goal scoring opportunities every game. Our tempo is poor and the constant changing of formation means the biggest highlight in Europe is how 'well oiled' all our opponents have looked whilst we often look like 11 strangers.

We also started the game with 4 CMs.

You've made your point Roberto, Marwood has moved sideways, now, as Tolmie said, learn from our mistakes. We're going backwards.

This sums it up... We need men out wide who can beat a man, so when were playing badly which happens, they can create something out of nothing... nasri and silva when fit cant do it, they always come inside. There more central attacking midfield players for me played slightly out of position to fit in. Tevez or Balotelli out wide doesnt work either... Aguero should be in the no 10 role, not leading the line.... And Dzeko would score a load if he played for a team that crossed the ball, but we dont, so he's never gonna be as effective as he could be. Were all over the place...

Robbed by the ref and linesmen however that shouldn't cloud the fact that we are simply not good enough in Europe.

No width, no pace, central midfielders with no engine or passing range.

Suddenly we are now trying to play a 4-3-3 where 2 of the mids, Barry and Garcia, are donkeys and we have no genuine pace and trickery out wide.

We seriously fucked up in the summer window and haven't addressed any of our obvious shortcomings. We will still truck along in the Prem but can't see us hitting any sort of decent form until we re-shape our squad once again.

But half the midfield are injured!!!

We were much the better team, but still played way below par and seemed to me to be feeling the pressure. I was unhappy with mancini at Dortmund and Ajax but really tonight had nothing to do with tactics. It was 2 sloppy goals, and then players losing composure in the final third

Don't be silly Marv, Rodwell or Milner are hardly world class or much different to Garcia and Barry - 4 centre mids that just aren't good enough at this level.

Still livid. Still cant believe what i just witnessed. Never seen a ref so keen to disregard the situation and blow for time, at the end of both halves too no less.

Compounded by how abject we were in the first half, no control at all. Even in the second half our forward forays were more the result of gung ho luck than any of the precise football that won us the title last season.

We have some serious problems at this club at the minute make no mistake. Next game, next game, next game. I dont think a title winning team has ever looked so sub par this far into a season. Can barely buy a clean sheet, which may not be an issue with the attack of last season, but that seems to have wondered off with David Silva somewhere. Its nothing short of a minor miracle we're only two points off the top. This is exactly the sort of game the team needed to rally together and show everyone that we're pressing on, and we've been making excuses as fans constantly, next game, wait till Agueros back, wait till Silvas back, we just need some luck.. And we just didnt deliver. We looked like the ameteurs in Europe, again, and again, and again. Not even close to good enough.

Okay you've done a decent analsys of the first. but what did you think of the second half when we dominated for most the game and was very unlucky not to win.

The thing is, when the papers write something like that you moan about it. Can't have it both ways.

Carlos was fucked. Anymore running and he would have run himself into the ground. Leave Roberto alone.

The writing was on the wall after 20 minutes. We set out to knock them out in the first 20 minutes with a very high intensity with our forwards chasing everything. Tevez and Aguero were knackered after an hour

nail on the head mate. you can get through the games with a bit of mobility, but those 4 a like fucking snails...
