City vs Aston Villa Pre Match Thread

Midfield might get into a bit of trouble considering Villa don't really put 8-9 behind the ball. But that said I think there is more than enough to hopefully see us through today. Big game today.

Can someone please explain why he now plays 3 central midfielders when the season is dead, yet all season we have gone with 442 ?
the guy is a plant pot, is he on a wind up

Astonished he's now turned to consistency, is that the first time this season the lineup is unchanged? Has Fernandinho told Pellegrini some home truths or something? he's been our best player recently and bizarrely gets dropped. That team is good enough to get the job done, if they put the effort in.
Lampard is a bigger goal threat, and for 60 minutes he is quite good. Yes Dihno is superior, and I'd have played him over Nando, but That's coz I don't like specialist DMs.

Plus Villa will park a whole fleet of buses obviously. I think Fernando and Mangala work pretty well together (as you would expect) so probably that is behind his selection rather than Fernandinho.

Looks like we want to rest Fernandinho for a while, the unchanged lineup is more to do with the injuries we have rather than Pellegrini's preferred choice imo.

Lampard instead of Fernandinho against a quick on the break and young team. That really worries me. Not sure what Fernandinho has to do. Oh well must win, so lets get this done.

Why does he always bench Dihno near the end of the season. Did the same last season.

So long as Liverpool don't win (touch wood) we have been handed a great hand today.

Don't disgrace yourselves City, just get the job done.
