City vs Barca - Post Match Thread

The ref was shit as well, it's always the same with these UEFA refs

You'll never get a ref that doesn't favor Barca, even if you are Real Madrid.

Anyway, I thought Pellegrini decided to play too defensively. You should have attacked from the beginning and put that center back pairing under pressure. Should have started Nasri instead of Kolarov imo.

Vinney laying the smackdown on ITV

"they was there for the taking, shown them too much respect, not the best team we played this season at all"

Bluemoon won't like this. But he's right... we didn't go at them, we fucking sat off and only after it all went tits up, we caused them problems.

Good effort but did anyone really expect us to knock barca out?
The more realistic of us certainly didn't. We could be out there until midnight, with 11 men, and we wouldn't score.
Based on what? They had one more chance than us in the game, despite being a man up for most of the second half.

Hard not to be disappointed that our players just looked happy to be their tonight. Apart from Kompany and Kolarov they all looked like fanboys sucking up to the Barca players.

Demichellis definitely isn't a football player either. Too big an occasion for someone like Lescott who lets face it, is an Aston Villa, Stoke level sort of centre back.

All that has shown us is that the gap between us and barca aint thst much at all.

Yes they had a lot iof posession but didnt do much with it until we went down to 10 men. The sending off was correct but it was very borderline between a free kick and a penalty....certainly a foul on nsvas in the build up as well.

2-0 to them gives us a hill to climb but with kun back there is still a chance.

Not sure why people are having a go at hart.... he didnt do too much wrong at all and didnr stand a chance with the goals.

Pleased with pellers adapting the tactics...we looked very solid.

Harsh on negrado....didnt look fit again and not a player who can play up top on his own.

Silva, Kompany and Fern outstanding.

Different game with Aguero out there next leg. Have faith blues.

Proud to be a City fan, valiant effort from the boys.
Spot on
We bloodied Barca's nose, with Aguero back for the return, those chances we failed to put away may well be turned into goals, get an early one and it's game on!
We've got nothing to lose, a total win win situation, we give it a go and see what happens, if we pull it round, great! If not, we can concentrate on the title.
Chuffed at the boys performance to be honest, 2-0 is not the end.

I thought we were excellent considering. I did think Barca had another gear to go up to if needed tbh. The 'penalty' was obviously key. Outside the box and Navas was fouled in the build up. But thems the breaks.
40 mins against them with 10 men was tough and we just ran out of steam.
Messi was inconspicuous but made the 'pen'
Full strength against them in Barca you never know.....gotta be positive even if you don't believe
