City vs Barca - Post Match Thread

Down to managers tactics
Pelligrini picking Demichellis was like Reid constantly picking Heath in the old days
Accident waiting to happen
May as well play with 10 men in my opinion
At least he will not play in the Return
What has Lescott done to upset anybody
He had to pick players who are comfortable on the ball. Barcelona would have pressed the fuck out of Lescott and he'd have had a nightmare. MDM is far from the perfect option but it was the right choice tonight.

Got to play technical players who are comfortable in possession and can keep the ball against Barca , hence Nasri and Jovetic should have started .
Kolarov isn't suited to this kind of opposition and Navas would have been a great impact sub to stretch them as they are not the fittest team if starved of the ball ...
A very frustrating match .

Agree with this - but on an other day we would have put a couple of those chances away. Said before that at this level you have to take them.
Proud of them today - don't forget this is the future. Return leg 1-4 Kun hat trick in first 30 mins

Guys we are not like that. We played good, they deserved win.

Most important we can win at camp nou with Aguero.

Played well against a top top team.
Just emphasised how much we need a new centre half… Lescott, Nastasic and Demechelis not up to it.
Still proud of our effort tonight tho, and still convinced we'll get the other treble!

oh dear!!! thought MDM played well until then
Probably because he did play well until that point. You cannot judge a players performance on 1 second of it, instead consider the other 53 minutes.

MDM was poor all night, sliced clearances or big hoofs up the pitch. He's not good enough, not even nearly. He was the same against Chelsea in the league. But my major issue is the fact that Pellegrini continues to pick him.
I thought he played well in both todays match and that one against Chelsea. I do not think that he is upto the standard of our team, but as a player, those two performances were decent in comparison to some of the games he has played for us.

Thanks for your support!
City have got my support...the fucking lambs at the Etihad tonight havent

throat is killing me, thought it was decent tonight

We can still do this! When we unleash serg and the beast on them were far more dangerous in front of goal, I think the beast is a far better player alongside aguero! Formidable partnership!

Kompany at fault for the red card and penalty more than Demichellis who otherwise had been playing excellent, as did Kompany bar this mistake.
