City Vs Bayern Post match Discussion thread

"We are a good team. We played well, we're very sorry for our supporters and I'm sorry for our players.

Apology not accepted, Roberto. He has nothing to apologise for.

We got to 10 points in a group of death and didn't make it, shit happens.

Well done lads.
Hopefully, all the disappointment will be forgetten when they lift the League title.

I think this is going to be one of the worst Champions League's ever. So many average teams left in it, it's incredible. Might aswell just treat this weekend's "Classico" as the Champions League final and give the trophy to the winner.

What a ridiculously good goal by Silva. He wasn't even playing well, then does that out of nowhere, 30 seconds after being crocked. Unreal.

If he did that more often, he would be in the top 3 in the world.

Stunning strike.

I may be biased, but I already have him in the top 3.

Well played City

Surreal game as even at 2-0 I didn't think we were ever going to go through

Hope Bayern and Napoli go on to do well. I think the City players go out with pride but they will be annoyed as they should have gone through from this group even though it was tough

Hopefully we qualify again next season, and with 3 wins and a draw we have boosted our club coefficient. Last time I looked we were 33rd in Europe.

I was thinking that before, Basle, CSKA, Zenit and APOEL going through.

Some of the groups have just been weird to me although I always find it a tough competition to predict. Trabzonspor winning at Inter on the first day, then Lille won in Moscow and it looked like they would win the group but then CSKA win in Milan as well and Inter top the group.

Lyon were -4 goal difference in third place as well before tonight. I know Zagreb have been shit but still to go there and win 7-1 with the fastest hat-trick and 7 goals in about 30 minutes.

Zagreb, Galati and Villarreal on 0 points as well which I suppose isn't that much of a surprise as the first two are not the best but you normally see the odd draw, particularly in Villarreal's case.

Even then thinking back to how close Arsenal's group has been (with Marseille coming back from 2-0 down in Dortmund to win) and Chelsea looking down and potentially out until the last moments. It's been so topsy turvy.

I would have loved for us to go through but really we did not get the best of starts to the group, did well to get ourselves back into contention but I think Napoli have been better (not by that much but enough) and deserve to go through. Some of the goals like Bayern's 1st and Villarreal's at our place they were first to rebounds and Cavani's 1st in Naples I have tended to think maybe we were just switched off a bit at key times but we will learn and we were not that far away in a very difficult group.

Not too disheartened. We're new to this this and we'll be back next year.

Unlike probably a certain other club from somewhere near Manchester.

Who, by the way, is going to be financially strapped with the loss of knockout stage CL revenue.
