The Europa league is looking a lot better and with a little more classic potential, City, Porto, Valencia, Athletico Madrid, Paris SG, PSV...

Some good away days there obviously bar the scum.

The blues did us all proud first season, the truth of the matter is we need to wise up and do the small things like go down when we are fouled and claim for everything only then will we compete at this level. We will get better the more we play in the competition so it's happy days try again next year!

Another point worth mentioning was Savic had a great game at right back and has given us another option there.

What a ridiculously good goal by Silva. He wasn't even playing well, then does that out of nowhere, 30 seconds after being crocked. Unreal.

If he did that more often, he would be in the top 3 in the world.

I may be biased, but I already have him in the top 3.

He would be very close to be honest mate. He is my favourite City player and I think someone who will become a legend for us. I just hope he scores more belters like tonight!

I haven't changed my mind if you read my post again. Them lot are in the brown stuff and we aren't. Mancini's priority is the league title this season and by going out of the CL he can save his best players for that now, one less complication for us ok we're in the Europa now but that's with the B team.

He did really well. Not sure he got forward as well as Richards, but his defending was excellent. They all did well tonight. Aguero and Nasri were the best for me. Felt sorry for the players at the end, but with the League Cup, and FA Cup, and title race there's plenty to aim for

Ah well. We did our job tonight but it was always a tall order expecting Villareal to get a result.
10 points would have got us through six of the other seven groups. And would actually have WON two of them. Only a couple of times before has 10 not been enough. Such are the margins and the importance of the draw. We ended up in a dog of a group, one of the toughest in the competition's history.
We made mistakes, certainly, but had some bad luck as well. The penalties not given in Munich, the woodwork at home to Napoli. T**** refusing to come on and get cup tied. Not having Mario as an option for the first three games.
But we live and learn. We are a club and a team with momentum, on a relentlessly upward curve.
And we depart with dignity. Despite the sniping, and more recently a scandalous, borderline racist slander by their owner, Roberto and his players front up for the media, refuse to make excuses or blame anyone other than themselves and congratulate Napoli.
Unlike another bunch of graceless tarts who failed to qualify from one of the easiest groups in CL history, with fewer points than we managed, then slunk out of Switzerland in shame-faced silence like rapists in a police van leaving court.

I'd forgotten about Mario's suspension. That could have been signifcant at home to Napoli

I pray we get another chance next season. It would be even more disappointing if we were out of the Champions League with no chance of getting back in again next season.

Got it totally wrong when he went for a ball that was Vinnie's and that left his man free who got shot away but apart from that did a good job.He's not Micah though!
