City Vs Borussia Dortmund (CL) Post Match Thread

Reminded me of their game against Bilbao last year. They played with an energy and tempo that we simply couldn't match. Never expected to progress from this group and I think we'll need to defeat Real and Ajax twice to have any hope.

I think the pressure of us being the oil rich mercenary employing club is telling atm in Europe. Opposition seem to have a real up for itness against us and we cant get into our rhythm.

I'm delighted with a point against Dortmund. I'll be astounded if we progress. We need to beat Ajax in both games (big ask) and must also beat Real at home (arf!) we'd have ten points .... would that be enough?

Time to shape up City!!

COME ON BLUES!!

Most English teams have struggled when first in the Champs League. In view of the ridicously hard group we are in its no surprise we are also doing the same.

Having said that we were poor tonight and out run and out fought.

Well done City. We pulled it back and there's still plenty to play for, although you'd never believe it reading some in this thread.
People are going by the performance tonight. We were battered by them, totally outclassed. But yes, we are still in the group. Win both our games against Ajax (no ifs or buts, it has to be two wins) and hope that Real take AT LEAST 4 points off Dortmund. We would then be level with Dortmund for the second spot, assuming that Real will win the group. Then beat Real at home and draw in Germany and we may sneak through.

Our team was fucking terrible.

Our fans were fucking terrible.

Our manager was fucking terrible.

I agree, Mancini is naive when it comes to Champions League football. We will get turned over in Dortmund.

You're misreading. He hopes the reason Barry was left out was because of injury and not tactics.

sorry but i am still amazed of this match....

When you play the Champions of strong leagues you expect hard games, tonight we were second best by far, but nowhere near our best.

The very best teams can stop us playing, i might write a long post about why they can tomorrow. But basically they stop Yaya and that stops us.

Im happy with a point tonight, we have an Ajax double header now, Dortmunds is Real. We have time to get into form for what i think will be the crucial game and that is Dortmund away.

Dont get too down about tonight, we didnt lose, we are still in there fighting

I love you Rascal

A little perspective perhaps my friend.

We cant be upset and should not be upset when a team plays like that against us

Surely it was our poor effort that allowed them to play like that.. thats what upsets me..

We are not gonna get through this group , one point from the first two games just isn't good enough good enough ..... Real Madrid are all but through already , and we won't win in Dortmund .

ah, yes. the kolarov switch was bewildering. not that he really did anything wrong, it's just not at all what we needed, which was industry in the middle of the pitch.
