City Vs Borussia Dortmund (CL) Post Match Thread

City couldn't get the ball past the half way line for most of the second half, very poor. Joe Hart was outstanding tonight. For those that question his supposed weakness to his left he made a fantastic stop in injury time.

A

MATCH!

Cheers.

yeah...not really. You guys deserved to win & we were very lucky to have come away with a point.

Pleased with the result considering how well they played and how off our game we were. Never seen Yaya lose the ball so many times in a game.

Listen to you with your tinpot group. Dortmund are a very good team.
They are a good team. But lets be honest, they are not Barca.

The amount of chances they created was worrying.

What's happened to Kompany? Last season City were so hard to break down. Kompany looks awful this year.

Why aren't you on an arsenal forum discussing the arsenal game? Not being argumentative, just wondering.
Good question.

Completely outclassed, I haven't been this impressed with an opponent since Napoli last season. So many reminders of that game in there today, except in a lot of ways Dortmund were better ... not defending deep and countering, just stood up to us in the midfield, took the ball, and ran away. I have no idea how we drew that, it was completely undeserved. For all the ire pointed at Mancini, i don't think it's about formation or tactics, but it may be about preparation. I've never seen our side so unsure of where the passes were even supposed to be, we looked completely unprepared for them to press the ball in that formation. Truth is I don't know that we have the players to counter what they brought, they simply seemed to be better.

That said, both goals were gifts and both keepers were class. On another night we may bury one of those early chances and the game is entirely different. Nonetheless, our inability to get a handle on that game was worrisome, to say the least. And big credit to Dortmund, that was a hell of a performance.

Naivety will cost us again. Garcia going off injured didn't help.

garica is slow and has no creativity. We need better players.

+1

He hasn't impressed since he arrive . Yes he scored a goal against stoke but that doesn't change the fact that we could have gotten better players . We spent soooo much time chasing after DDR that when the whole deal collapsed we got desperate and jumped on Garcia . We had better make the January window COUNT . Get Fellaini or Vidal (if Juve would be willing to sell )

When you play the Champions of strong leagues you expect hard games, tonight we were second best by far, but nowhere near our best.

The very best teams can stop us playing, i might write a long post about why they can tomorrow. But basically they stop Yaya and that stops us.

Im happy with a point tonight, we have an Ajax double header now, Dortmunds is Real. We have time to get into form for what i think will be the crucial game and that is Dortmund away.

Dont get too down about tonight, we didnt lose, we are still in there fighting
