Bravo
Zaba
Nico
Stones
Clichy
Fernandinho
Fernando*
Silva
Sterling
Aguero
Nolito
* Assumes KDB is injured with a high up, left hamstring strain.
Pep will use all three subs to rest players who are knackered (Silva and Fernandinho, primarily) and give Sane for Sterling, to get some more game time into Sane's legs.
The rest of Saturday, and all Sunday, Monday, until Tuesday evening is plenty of rest for the players who are not suffering from strains or niggles. Those that are will be day to day, but 3 days is usually plenty, especially now Pep is using some real recovery science to aid the players, rather than pizza and carb loading for after match meals, etc...
Need to win the game and I think Pep will put EVERYTHING on the line to win it. These have (had?) been the banana skins in the CL in the past, meaning we have had to play catch up for the entire Group Stage in years past. No-one at City wants that. This is an early "lay it all on the line" game, with a chance to rest AFTERWARDS, if necessary. I'd start my strongest side possible and take it from there, with capable replacements on the bench in all positions.
