I agree with you. It's the same with people taking videos of concerts instead of watching it. But what I'm saying is that I understand why those people go crazy about selfies. When they're home halfway around the world, those selfies are the only thing that will remind them of the memory being there.It's a sporting event. Show up, root for the team, sing your face off and enjoy the show. Take pictures before or after the match or better yet throw more money into the club's coffers by taking a tour, which is excellent. During the match respect the match and watch it.
It wasn't really meant as a dig tbh, just fact of life when it comes to successful clubs. I alluded to the can't be arsed when I said we've got fans who pick and choose. It's the same thing really.
Would I like to see a full house every game? Of course. Does it upset me as much as it seems to do others? Not a chance. This season has already got me too excited to worry about those not turning up. They're missing out, not me. Plus my journey home will probably take half hour less..
I've no problem with people not making it for those reasons. City isn't the be all and end all and life comes first for many. I'm lucky for evening games because I finish work early afternoon so can set off from home in good time. Getting away can be a ball ache and what should be a 30/45 minute journey can take an hour and half. I'm not going to pull up blues who have been up since 6am and won't get home until midnight having to get up at 6am again. People do what they have to do. I can't make away games because of work which is a shame but I learn to live with it. I'm happy doing the vast majority of homes.Love night games, unfortunately when you live past Oldham it's a ballache getting back, especially when you've been out at work from 7.30am and you won't be getting home til 11pm.
I find this rather baffling. City is a global club nowadays. There are fans from all over the world. For some that goes there, it might be the only time in their life going to the Etihad. What's wrong with the fact that they'd like to document their memories by taking selfies? After spending a bollocks amount of money traveling there, sure they're entitled to do that. Sure there are instances like the selfie sticks where it's bothersome for others. But other than that it's fair game me thinks. I just think it's not fair if we take foreign money from the sheikh but foreign money isn't welcomed?
