City Vs Everton Post Game Discussion thread

I think they have to hope for new ownership before they end up in administration. I've been hearing rumors they're paying their bills this year by taking a loan out against next year's TV money. That's dangerous business.

robert elstone said it was a relatively small amount ( 14 million ), so this makes you wonder where the money from player sales and our training ground have gone? reality is we cannot compete with other prem teams in relation to wages/ transfers. the offloaded wages of an arteta will be offset by lost revenue at home games. currently have loads of seats for the derby next saturday

Was MCFC doing this during Keegan's or Pearce's time with future season ticket money. Economic madness.
What we did with season ticket money was known as a "securitisation" and we essentially pledged a portion of future income for a large cash injection. That was used to kit out the stadium after the Commonwealth Games and was little different to a mortgage, except our security was income rather than bricks and mortar. It was deemed to be a good risk as we were known to have loyal support. We took the money in two tranches, one repayable over 15 years and the other over 25 years and we're still paying these. This was good business.

What Everton have done is take a loan against future TV income, which lots of clubs do to overcome a cash-flow shortfall. Bit like a payday loan really. Cash coming in tends to be irregular at football clubs (lump sums in Jan, May & August mainly) whereas outgoings are regular. So in Nov/Dec and March/April, things tend to be a bit tight. nothing wrong with this either.

However the problem comes if you have to borrow this money too early or you're pledging TV money too far in advance. so taking a loan in September against next May's money (as opposed to in November against January's money) would tend to suggest there's a serious problem.

Under Shinawatra we were only saved from going under by getting a £30m loan against TV money 2 or 3 seasons ahead. We couldn't have lasted another season on that basis.

i'm glad we won. Really glad.

They didn't do shit in that game, if it wasn't for dzeko's poor touch at the start, it could have been 1-0 easily off the go and we wouldn't have had to resort to trying to break down their defence.

I fucking hate that they're making the cahill incident bigger than it warrants. If anything Cahill fully deserved kompany's landing (NOT A STOMP...why do people say stomp? Stomp implies that it was violent/malicious/& heavy).

Fucking hell that was an bad tackle from cahill. He just clatters into him.

I have nothing nice to say about Everton, they had no trouble with us at all till we took Lescott off them and to be honest I don't think it wasn't us they were angry with nor was it Lescott but they were angry with the fact that all this team spirit bull shit that spouts out of every Everton fan and player is a complete lie and that any player would happily leave for a club going places regardless of the amount being paid to them....

pienaar and Arteta knew it as well as Lescott that Everton is just a side stepping club there's no progression or any glimpses of being a better club then the current top 5...

I find it funny how Everton fans always mention the money yet they forget they were once one of the wealthiest clubs in England till their horrible spiteful club got sold...

I'm glad we won as it sends us closer to the top and them lot closer to the bottom, 3 points gained for us, 3 points lost for them...

They're an embarrassment to Northerners and to football and I hope their club goes into administration......

I thought the manager picked the right team and made the right substitutions on Saturday. For 30 minutes we couldnt break them down because we were lacking width, just like Napoli, but then he pushed the fullbacks on and we strated to get round the back. Balotelli was the right sub, and it was done early enough, so that he gace them something else to think about, particularly pace.

Pleasing to see us break down a resolute side. MOM contenders for me Lescott, Clichy, Barry, Silva. How the hell Nasri got it I do not know...

Despite what some have said on here, Everton are a big club. I feel a bit sorry for their fans as they deserve better.

I hate Moyes with a passion, he is an absolute bulging eyed ****. His comment abount Vinnie is disgusting. There was nothing in what he did at all. Cahill was the one who made the bad challenge.

They will be OK this year but Stoke play better football than them at the moment.

On what basis do they 'deserve' better? They might be a big club but that in itself doesn't mean they 'deserve' better. Maybe they have cause to expect better, but from the way their fans are, they don't deserve anything except failure.

I didn't mean they deserve any kind of success just because they are a big club. I meant they deserve better than having to watch the anti football that Moyes had them serve up on Saturday. If you pay to watch your team you expect them to at least try & attack.

they are making a big thing about that pic thats posted on that page too.

To me its just Lescott apologising for the hosiptal pass. They think its congratulating Kompany for stamping the little fucker out

I hope it was meant for both...

I bet Joleon loved every minute of the win the other day especially after all the abuse he's been getting from those wankers!

They're like a less successful version of the rags they think that players owe them and should remain at their vile shit ridden club till the end of their careers... well I got news for you Everton, players owe you shit and Lescott has proven that he's got his winners medal he would of won fuck all at that hateful spiteful disgusting piece of shit dive of a club....

Fuck you Everton and your ugly gollem look alike fuck wit manager!!!

he manages as he played. dour and negative, and he could never manage high profile stars. each time he has had to step up a gear with everton he has failed. he can unearth a gem from the championship and has done reasonably well but has not got the ability to take the club forward

It's all well and good saying u can't buy team spirit(having a pop at City) but u can buy fantastic players that r born winners, team spirit comes in the training ground, just look at Mario now the last few games he's been smiling and he's been on the bench! winning mentality much more important(team spirit comes naurally)
