City vs Everton Post Match Thread

Anybody read city's match report in the sun yet with the article underneath asking their columnist to vote on who is manager of the season Pulis or Rodgers unbelievable.

Quite predictable really. Manager of the year has been a all about the best British manager for some time now.
Only Wenger has broken the glass ceiling - and even then he only got it after his second double.

They gave it to Pardew for finishing 5th when Mancini won the most exciting Prem title ever. They're not going to give it to Pelle, even if he does win the double in his first year.

He is using the definition as used by those who have played and watched football for many years and understand how a player who doesn't touch the ball can still be "interfering". FIFA in their wisdom decided that most referees were too thick to understand this so changed the interpretation and have managed to confuse everyone as to what actually is offside nowadays.
I agree about the confusing bit.
You seem to see offside given if the player moves towards the ball when in an offside position. By that token sury Osman was offside and interfering with play.
At the end of the day, some you get some you don't but I wish we could go back to the old rules cos it was much simpler then...
As Gordon Strachan said recently, it's not confusing if you read the rules. If only one player could play the ball, then the assistant might flag rather than wait for him to touch it, but if several players could play the ball, you wait to see which one does. Unless one of the others (in an offside position) physically prevents an opponent from playing the ball, it's not offside.

Twitcher redknapp also had his say about how more deserving of it would be if pulis or rodgers got it,pellgrini walked into the job wih everything in place...

Slightly worried about how hard we made it look against a team that didnt even want a draw or win but job done. Harder tests to come.

You should be supplied with Valium for a City title run in!!!!! My nerves are shot!! Today was probably the worst for me nerve wise in 30+ years being a Blue!!!! God knows what I looked like through my window to the non football caring passer-by?? Probably thought I need sectioning!!! My neighbours must think me and our kid are radio!! When Probert played an extra minute I thought I was gonna have a coronary! Was shouting extremely colourful language at the 42" piece of glass , with veins protruding out of my neck to rival Diedre Barlows! Anyway let's leave my extremely fragile mental state and talk about the Blues today!! Was gutted for Kun as only Kun can do what he did today, but did it makes us better in a backhanded way? Though Ferni looked more busy in the middle than Yaya( who I think is absolutely knackered). Jerry Garcia had me nearly ripping my hair out with his constant wish to grapple and grab, but anybody who has played knows that grabbing somebody who has gone past you is involuntary and done before you realise but he did restrain himself a couple of times overall he looked ok but his speed worries me but he was up against an in-form Ross Barkley who is reminiscent of a young Paul Gascoingne who was class today and most would of struggled?? Joey Hart 1 world class save from as we all really know is a world class keeper on his day,Clichy looked as effervescent as always but soft in the tackle, big Vinny Komps looked back to his best and MDM! What can you say about the long haired Latin who is quickly becoming a cult figure at City? He was mint! Assured on the ball, plays the offside as well as anybody in the world, good in the air and good positioning and very vocal!! Souness very complimentary and rightly so!! Milly was as industrious as ever which is a bit insulting as the skill and cross for our 2nd was sublime!! And what about the Enigma that is Edin Dzeko?? His first goal summed him up to a tee!! Goes through has too many touches and totally fluffs his lines then a cross comes over and he scores a world class header from 14-15 yrds easily the hardest of the two chances!! His second goal was easier but you have to be in the right place to score? Was well set up by Nasri who has great eye catching ability but him being a shitbag drives me to distraction but he is such an elegant footballer he gets away with it for me!! Zaba was as solid as ever and nearly got a goal!!! The lads did look tired today but that's to be expected as they are only human and the pressure is bad enough for me sat in my gaff in West Didsbury never mind the pressure cooker of Goodison Park!! We got through it which is all that counts!!!! WELL DONE LADS WELL PROUD OF YOUSE, HAVE A REST AND BACK ON WEDNESDAY FOR VILLA. The atmosphere should be electric I can't wait!! We gotta be 12th man goes without saying!!!!

I'd stick a picture of Spud from Trainspotting here if I knew how .....

Haha !!!that used to be my nickname!!! Was a bit pent up last night!!! I'll stop there......

You mean a traditional bogey side where we have an appalling record of late, a side that is sat 5th in the league, a side that's been playing for CL football, a side that's lost just twice at home this season and a side that's beaten every side above them at home apart from us?

Of course you are right though, two home games against sides well below us with fuck all to play for will be far tougher.......

The players either side of Lukaku were in offside positions. The one between the ball and Lukaku, Osman (21), went to head the ball and only just missed it. What was Hart to do? Anticipate where the ball would be headed, or wait to see if the ball would reach Lukaku? Did he know that Osman was offside? Did he know the linesman knew? Did the linesman know? I'd say Osman WAS interfering with play and so was offside, but it was very close and, swings and roundabouts, it didn't matter in the end, and won't matter as far as goal difference goes.

It must of been offside because it wasn't debated enough on MOTD they didn't bring out the

or the

If it would of been us that scored that goal all of the above would of been used, hang on deja vu.
