City vs Fullham Post Match Discussion

The fact that we look so comfortable today shows how utterly pathetic Fulham were. It really should have been 4/5-0 minimum. Wasted opportunity but would have taken a 1-0 win before the game as 3 points really is all that matters.

Shite performance, i couldn't help but come away feeling a bit disappointed.

Champions don't win a game 2-0 at home after scoring in the 2nd minute. Really should have showed more impetus and played how we can.

so seeing the english champions play at only 60% of their ability was acceptable was it?

In fact yes it is. From Liverpool in the eighties to United more recently champions don't always play at 100%.

Personally thought we played well. Got ahead never looked like conceding, could have won 4 nil. That is what champions look like.

Seeing them win 2-0, keeping another clean sheet, seeing them keep the pressure on the rags was more than acceptable for me.

apart from when they hit the post i assume?

considering we won the league on goal difference, we seem happy to do the bare minimum all of a sudden

Last 5 games, 5 wins, scored 14 and only conceded 3 and they were in the one game against Norwich.

Bare minimum?

why the obsession with a clean sheet?

i'd rather go for it, score 4 and concede one than sit back and win 2-0

-- Sat Jan 19, 2013 8:20 pm --

during the Arsenal game we looked scared to attack after going 2-0 up (which was dangerous to do so early in the game) and today we didn't try to play i felt. This timidness is a bit worrying, and a sign that we are not as good as we were last year.

It certainly wasn't 'vintage City' .... aside from the last 20 minutes or so we lacked flair , and much of our play , and Fulhams too for that matter , was pretty mundane.

Aside from the goals , i think this game will be forgotten pretty quickly ...

We really should have added to the two Silva goals , but we didn't .... and that must frustrate the hell out of Mancini .... we made such hard work of it against a Fulham side who proved no threat whatsoever , and that , after us scoring in the opening two or three minutes !

But we got the points at the end of the day , that was THE most important thing , and , let's face it , we simply aren't gonna produce a classic performance every week , are we ??

If we create as many clear cut chances in every game as we did today then I won't be complaining. Another goal or two today and everyone would have been raving. Once we got the second today we played some lovely football and only the finishing stopped it from being a thrashing for them.
