City Vs Liverpool Post Match Discussion Thread

We took our chances so well, we allowed them to have a lot of the ball but the defending from the endless crosses they sent in was first class, Carroll who usually troubles us was marked out of the game. Kompany was brilliant.

But forget De Rossi, can we spend our transfer budget on a roof? I got bloody soaked to the bone in the second row! :P

Have to give some props to Kolo as well.

I didn't think we played that well.

Aguero goal was poor goalkeeping, Toure goal was poor defending, Milner goal was a penalty.

They created more chances than we did.

And before anyone has a go at me, I was NOT one of the ones who came on here after WBA or Sunderland and said 'we're shit'.

We're not, we're fatigued and off form imo. Still believe the league is ours to lose.

COME OOOOON, YOU BLUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

Thought so myself but maybe it was a tactic used by the manager to allow Liverpool possession given we had played 48 hrs before? Some great performances today...I just hope Dzeko gets a goal soon - need someone to supply him with good passes.

And on Carroll, I think he will come good. If you saw him Vs Newcastle when Gerrard came on, his performance was much much better. He needs someone with a really good cross and he will be a the player you saw at Newcastle. Oh, and Downing is shit! He look petrified of Richards! (who can blame him, the guy is a TANK!)

Your problem with Carroll is similar to the one we sort of have with Dzeko - neither team plays a system that suits the player.

That is our problem in a nutshell, we prefer players you can play pass and move football. But, I think it isn't Carrolls fault. The other 10 players see Carroll as a lump to hit the ball to. And he is actually very good with the ball at feet.

Gerrard should have started, but is it worth the risk as he could have got injured. He is our only chance of Top 4 (unless we buy big in January).

I`m in CB3 row S and was getting pissed on,honest !!
Never seen rain and wind like that at Eastlands before, plenty of times at maine Road wherever you sat.

I think Liverpool's style of play was awful, it was long ball after long ball to Carroll and was like something I would expect to see from Bolton or Blackburn. Liverpool have always played football but they seem to have given up on that philosophy which is a shame but to be honest as a club they are in a bad place and pretty much heading the way of Leeds United.

That is a very harsh comparison. If anything, we are on the up. We played that style of football because we were missing our best players.

You take Aguero and Silva out of your team and you suffer (Vs Sunderland)
You take Rooney out of United and they suffer (Vs Blackburn)

We will see where the two clubs are in 5 years. But I honestly think we will be a massive force in English football.

Actually I think you will be where you are now
