I think Liverpool's style of play was awful, it was long ball after long ball to Carroll and was like something I would expect to see from Bolton or Blackburn. Liverpool have always played football but they seem to have given up on that philosophy which is a shame but to be honest as a club they are in a bad place and pretty much heading the way of Leeds United.

That is a very harsh comparison. If anything, we are on the up. We played that style of football because we were missing our best players.

You take Aguero and Silva out of your team and you suffer (Vs Sunderland)
You take Rooney out of United and they suffer (Vs Blackburn)

We will see where the two clubs are in 5 years. But I honestly think we will be a massive force in English football.

Actually I think you will be where you are now

Last post and im off.

Firstly, we have Kenny back. He is our most successful manager. There is no manager in world football i would have over him. He is the King.

Secondly, Liverpool always bounces back. Istanbul- Game Over. No chance of winning. And i think we all know what happened there. Our club was almost out of business 14 months ago. We bounced back and now we are competing for 4th. Most clubs would take 5 or so years to recover.

Thirdly, Kenny has built the spine for a team, he did this in his last spell. Henderson, Adam, Downing, Carroll aren't world beaters. But they will work hard and give us the British spine we used to have. Now he is adding the flair players and potential superstars. Suarez and Coates. Now i dont give a shit what you think of Suarez (racist or NOT) you have to admit he is a fucking good footballer. Coates is an unknown talent but was young player of Copa America and players such as Neymar, who everyone loves and is the 'new' Messi.

Fourthly, we have a good structure and youth setup. Players such as Suso, Morgan, Sterling and Wisdom can all be world class footballers. We also have good owners, they arent afraid of making decisions and have money to spend.

So, don't think you've killed us yet. We WILL take back our fucking perch!

I think Champs League this season will determine if you will be a force in the foreseable future. If your investment in this season doest get a top 4 Im not sure your Owners will be as generous.

Liverpool could do worse than buying adebayor off us. On the few occasions when agent Leslie played bellers through the middle with ade, they were devastating. unfortunately he tended to go 4 2 3 1 or, for a little while, 4 2 4, all with bellers starting on the left, and i dont think we ever saw the best of that partnership

Pure delusion it's great, I didn't even feel like I was going to a big game tonight shows what Liverpool are about these days.

I admire your spirit, but the truth is you've bought badly and that Liverpool team tonight was as poor as I have seen. You need to get 4th. At the moment I'd say Chelsea will probably get it. I'd like Newcastle to do it

Liverpool as a club have been deluded throughout the 90's leaving their ground and not expanding it and now it seems the fans are deluded. If you can't see that your best player is an ageing star Gerrard and your manager is also ageing.

Your desperation to get back in the top four will lead to an overspend as you have done on Carroll, Henderson etc this is exactly what Leeds Utd did and looked where they ended up.

To be honest you were heading for the championship last season before a very dubious court case forced gillet and hicks to sell.

Get real or you are finished.

Kenny Dalglish is 60. Ferguson is 70.

Ken Bates didn't have the money and ask any Leeds Fan, the man is an idiot.

Sorry bud it aint yours to take back i think united have sorted that out over the last 20 years. The spine of your team i feel is no spine at all really.
Not if you harbour real intentions of top 4 footy bud.

Not having a crack there thats just the truth of the matters i replied to and you would be hard pressed to find any fan at any club who would say im wide of the mark on that.

Cheers for coming on though i always like to hear a non ranty view from the oppo.

We seem more than capable of meltdowns between ourselves, (see: Dzeko threads) :D

Suarez may be good for build up play but his conversion rate prior to christmas (dont have the updated stats) was an appauling 7%

What about Charlie Adam?

Liverpool have managed to turn him into a sour shadow of the player we saw last season for Blackpool

I have no problems coming onto other forums and having good discussions and i'm slightly surprised that i didn't get alot of abuse.

But, before today we had the best defense in the premiership. Our back for is very good.

Lucas, is one of the most under rated players in the league. He is an absolute machine.

You put out our best possible team.

Reina

Johnson
Agger
Skertl
Enrique

Maxi
Lucas
Gerrard
Bellamy

Suarez
Carroll

That is a good starting position for a team. We then add a Mata/Silva type player and then a striker like Torres from 2 years ago then that is a team that can easily get top 4 football.

I know you think, its another false dawn for us. But it isn't. You can just feel it, something is different. The club lost its identity and Kenny is bringing it back. And he will also bring back trophies and a platform for which our next manager (Jamie Carragher) can take us back to where we were in the 70's and 80's.

Im happy that you are experiencing this success, but i have a very simple question for you all.

Does it feel like your playing football manager but you have added 500million to your balance? You win everything, but it doesn't feel as good as earning the way the game is meant to be played.
