City Vs Liverpool Post Match Discussion Thread

When you waste a shed load of money you can't woman when another team spends it. I can see how it can be hard to watch another team out of no where suddenly start looking like champions after all your campaigns and failure I get that it's hard you have been trying for years to topple the red twats but all failed you need money to succeed and to be the best? You need even more money. To clear out squad that had Darius Vassel in and to manage to turn into champions in 3 years isn't bad going the only way it could have happened was with heavy investment there is no other way. Sorry Dipper.

I have no problems coming onto other forums and having good discussions and i'm slightly surprised that i didn't get alot of abuse.

But, before today we had the best defense in the premiership. Our back for is very good.

Lucas, is one of the most under rated players in the league. He is an absolute machine.

You put out our best possible team.

Reina

Johnson
Agger
Skertl
Enrique

Maxi
Lucas
Gerrard
Bellamy

Suarez
Carroll

That is a good starting position for a team. We then add a Mata/Silva type player and then a striker like Torres from 2 years ago then that is a team that can easily get top 4 football.

I know you think, its another false dawn for us. But it isn't. You can just feel it, something is different. The club lost its identity and Kenny is bringing it back. And he will also bring back trophies and a platform for which our next manager (Jamie Carragher) can take us back to where we were in the 70's and 80's.

Im happy that you are experiencing this success, but i have a very simple question for you all.

Does it feel like your playing football manager but you have added 500million to your balance? You win everything, but it doesn't feel as good as earning the way the game is meant to be played.

Liverpool outlay on players last five years aprox 300 million

City outlay on players last five years approx 500 million.

In the current climate not that different. Considering what you have said about your future potential buys and our squad almost being complete, u may well catch us up. Does it feel like football manager to you.

200m is a lot of money. You also have to take into consideration the wages. in 2010 you were spending £130 million on wages. I'm just guessing that it will be almost double what we were spending. You could get 95% of world footballers to play for you by offering ludicrous contracts that no other club in world football can match.

I can honestly say, I wish you all the success for the next 3 years. Because all these 'projects' have a deadline. Chelsea's is close and yours wont be to far behind. You realize if this doesn't work then your club will be fucked.

Anyone can buy the premier league, so im glad we aren't doing that.I want to win it fairly, and I, and a lot of other people think that you aren't doing it fairly. But then again, who the fuck cares what others think of you. Right? When you lift the trophy high in the sky and your all jumping around sing 'Championes' you wont care.

But I think a lot of you do care what others think about your club. It's time you stop worrying about what others think about you and just go about your business. At the end of the day, your project will work in the short term. But, honestly, It wont last.

I'm wondering if you think that you have Fairly finished above Everton over the past 20 years or would you say that extra cash you've spent more than them as helped you a little.

You have also forgotten to include your little speach up there that anything your club have planned maybe held back a little by the need for a new stadium in the next few years. Would it be Ok in you veiw for your owners to spend some of their cash on it or would it be much fairer if the funds came out of just the clubs profit. £400-£500 million is going to knock into the transfer kitty over the next few years 10 I'd say.

So it looks like by doing it Fairly your project may work in the long term but I'd hold you onto them hopes for them working short term.

If it's ok with you we'll have bash at winning something while waiting for you to catch up.
I'll warn you though it's not easy seeing other clubs winning stuff for 30 odd years but you appear to be getting the hang of it as the little entitlement rants have started already but don't panic no doubt your time will come again being honest Liverpool are to big a club to not challenge again.
If I could offer you one bit of advise though when getting into bed, just consider a little prayer each night that Everton are not the next club to be bought by some multi billionaire owners. Imagine that

Cool story bro.

Now Fuck Off.....

Can't believe we won tonight considering that the ref gave every 50/50 decision to Liverpool, gave free kicks in dangerous positions to Liverpool as a result of fair tackles, allowed Skirtle and Adam to kick any City player they liked off the pitch and didn't send Skirtle off for a DOGSO offence AFTER giving a penalty for the said offence. Astonishing.

We must be pretty good. :-)

Brilliant result, fair play to Liverpool they played well tonight and if i'm being honest maybe 3-0 was harsh but i think also we we're far from our best. To have beat Liverpool 3-0 only 48 hours after a defeat is fantastic well needed and shows our strength now, bit ironic after the last 2 games we took our first chance tonight and it pretty much won us the game. Refs are getting worse every week how on earth Barry walked and Adam, Skirtel didn't is beyond me, not sure if it was a penalty or not still not seen it on t.v but it looked it at the game.

Tonight we stood up against a team who wanted to give us a run for our money, but then as the match went on, got away with some very blatant and dodgey tackling, how Adams stayed on after several nasty incidents???, like we could'nt tackle them without the ref pulling us up, but when they went in boots and all no reaction from the ref a lot of the times, I thought we took the goals well, and was a great improvement overal, compared to the last couple of weeks.............keep up the good work guys.............

Skirtle took his knee away and pressed down on YaYa's shoulder. It was very professional but a foul nonetheless. Can't understand why Skirtle didn't walk mind - a definite DOGSO.

Last post and im off.

Firstly, we have Kenny back. He is our most successful manager. There is no manager in world football i would have over him. He is the King.

Secondly, Liverpool always bounces back. Istanbul- Game Over. No chance of winning. And i think we all know what happened there. Our club was almost out of business 14 months ago. We bounced back and now we are competing for 4th. Most clubs would take 5 or so years to recover.

Thirdly, Kenny has built the spine for a team, he did this in his last spell. Henderson, Adam, Downing, Carroll aren't world beaters. But they will work hard and give us the British spine we used to have. Now he is adding the flair players and potential superstars. Suarez and Coates. Now i dont give a shit what you think of Suarez (racist or NOT) you have to admit he is a fucking good footballer. Coates is an unknown talent but was young player of Copa America and players such as Neymar, who everyone loves and is the 'new' Messi.

Fourthly, we have a good structure and youth setup. Players such as Suso, Morgan, Sterling and Wisdom can all be world class footballers. We also have good owners, they arent afraid of making decisions and have money to spend.

So, don't think you've killed us yet. We WILL take back our fucking perch!

Firstly, it is all well and good having your most successful manager ever return to the club, but that doesn't gaurentee he is going to replicate that level of success. He isn't producing anything like the sort of win rate he was during his spell in the late 80s because, well, you aren't as good. You aren't the only one who feels they have the perfect man for the job. Roberto is a winner, he leaves a trail of trophies and has us playing football that has seen us score the most and concede the least, a combination 'King' Kenny will struggle to get right for many a year.

Secondly, on what basis would most clubs take 5 years to recover from that if they were taken over and given a sizeable transfer kitty by new wealthy owners. We went from 10th to 3rd and winning our first trophy in over 30 years in the space of 2 years. You see with the right people in place you can do just about anything in the space of 5 years. We've done exactly what your trying to do now, except we've done it better. Let's not pretend that finishing 6th in 2011, spending large sums of money then 20 games in looking right on track for an impressive 6th place finish in 2012 is worthy of praise.

Thirdly, a strong spine will stand you in good stead, unfortunately the 4 players you mentioned aren't really ever going to make a world class spine. I would say Reina, Agger, Lucas, Adam, Carroll is a decent spine, nothing to pull your face at certainly, but compare it to Hart, Kompany, Yaya, Silva, Aguero and you begin to realise how far Liverpool still have to come. You've not recovered from anything yet, you've bought decent players when the teams your trying to catch have world class players. Granted Saurez is a quality footballer atleast.

Fourthly, congratulations on those youngsters, you will certainly know more about them than I do; but lets not just reel off 4 youngsters and say they can become world class, when is the last time you brought 4 world class players through your youth set-up. Judge them when they are breaking into the side of atleast making your existing players look over their shoulders. You should also note the recent plans for our youth set-up, another area you will be playing catch up from even further behind.

Finally, nobody thinks they have killed you, infact, we didn't even need to, you haven't really looked like threatening throughout our rise, so perhaps your 'beef' needs to be taken elsewhere. What I will say is in just about every positive area you just mentioned, you are already playing catch-up with us. It's never a good sign if your not even the best in your suposed areas of strength.

The problem here is you could ask a fan of every Premier League team and they would say the same. Everyone bigs up their youth. I could name Denis Suarez, Karim Rekik, Abdul Razak, John Guidetti (look him up), and Mohammed Abu from our youth system and say they can all be world class footballers. After all we beat Barcelona, Real, and Chelsea to sign Suarez for example. A Chelsea fan could do the same as could any fan of a club with a decent youth system. Our U18s for example are currently top of their league and Liverpool are in 3rd. The jump from youth to first team is incredibly large and difficult and you really can't say how good any of them will turn out. They can seem amazing at youth level and turn out to be nothing special at senior level.

Henderson, Adam, Downing, Carroll aren't world beaters. But they will work hard and give us the British spine we used to have.

A British spine is good but the players have to be high quality, none of these are. Henderson has some potential but no more than a dozen other young English midfielders. Most clubs including our own have this "British spine", it doesn't make you unique or special. Say you had a cast like Smalling, Milner, Rodwell, and Sturridge, that might be something worth bragging about.
