Right, strong team for Wednesday. This is an important spell coming up for us that could really kick start this stuttering season for us, Cup match then spank Utd and then get revenge on those diving Ruski's next Wednesday.
After Wednesday we have 3 full days off before the derby and all three games are at home with no travelling so let's mix the squad but make it first team regulars. Any one defeat in the next 3 games could be damaging so we have to get serious and play a strong team against Newcastle.
Now who's pointing out the obvious you sanctimonious prick

I understand where you are coming from but I am not talking about putting them in a premier league side and expecting them to produce.

We have an EDS who over the last two seasons have been very successful at their level. Lopes and Pozo, two slight foreign lads have both come on and done ok. When Suarez was here, he looked ok in the bits and bobs he played in.

We have two very important games coming up in the next week that could define Pelegrini's time here at the club as we could be way off the title and out of Europe on Bonfire Night.

He replaced Mancini with the word holistic being used but I have yet to see that come to fruition, I can understand him not doing it in the first year as he has to prove himself but there is no excuse why 3 EDS players can't start with another 3 on the bench in a Capital One Cup game against Newcastle, are we going to be that gutted if we go out of this competition? This competition should be used solely to blood young players in the future and it should have started against Sheffield Wednesday.

As for the ones who could start or come off the bench, Pozo is an obvious one, Fofana has the physical attributes, Glendon is the EDS captain, Barker is looking lively at the moment, Facey is nearly 20, played for England at every level, Angelino could get 20 mins on the left, we will never know how they will do unless they are given a chance.

Mourinho has put Lewis Baker on the bench today, he gave a debut to Dom Solanke in the Champions League on Tuesday. Wilson, Blackett and Perreria on the bench for United with Januzaj starting. Why can't we do the same?

Because we don't want to get knocked out by Milton fucking Keynes; we don't want to finish outside the top One, we want to annihilate everyone, every time. We have enough dynamite in the first team squad to blow every one to bits in all competitions. Being captain of EDS, playing for England at under 19 etc is no guarantee you can cut it with the crème de la crème. And now isn't the time to fuck around finding out. We're playing a premiership team that's just won away - not some lower league opponent. Start big and finish big tomorrow. Then move on and utterly grind those c**ts into the fucking ground.

Wow.... It's getting emotional, I agree with every word

Going to have to open the 3rd tier in the West Stand - unless City want to declare game sold out with an empty tier. Assuming Newcastle have sold their allocation, which I think they have, that means a minimum attendance of 40k for a night League Cup game live on TV. Not bad! In fact it's very impressive and only 4 or 5 years ago that was well out of our reach (we couldn't sell out League Cup Quarter Finals when being close to a Final was a really big deal)

I was wondering this morning how many times we have had 40,000+ for LC ties. I don't think there's been that many.
United in 69-70, United & Boro in 75-76, Liverpool 80-81 and United in 09-10 were the only ones I could think of off the top of my head.
I'm sure there are others but it does look like tomorrow will be a really big gate for this competition. I believe that you
are right and Newcastle have sold their allocation. It should be a really good atmosphere.
Come on you Blues!

A mate who's a Newcastle ST holder says they rarely put their full allocation on for sale due to previous bad behaviour and fines because of it - don't know if it's good info but he says it could mean only 1-2k fans in the 6 blocks that they have (which probably means that the top tier wont even be used)

They'd be on sale to City fans if they are available. There aren't any seats together left

Yet another Ticket Office cock-up. Probably too late to organise stewarding for the Colin Bell 3rd tier so we'll be left with a reduced attendance. Was obvious a while ago that demand for this game was high. .

As in, Newcastle said "yeah we'll take 6 blocks, 3 lower and 3 upper tier" and then only put on sale to their ST holders and members about 1-2k instead of the full lot.
Their way of crowd controlling their own fans I assume - no cock up at City's end

Can't see Newcastle doing that. They'll be charged for all the tickets.

They haven't got 6 blocks, they only took the normal league allocation. My season ticket is in 116 and I have it for the match plus 116 has been handed over to 1864.

Which are blocks 113-115 and 213-215 aren't they?

Just passing his info on and I'm expecting a lot of empty seats in the away end
