Apologies if I'm making a stupid point, but I have a question:

Loads of people are talking about Ambrose, Barker for the Palace game, I assume lads who did well in the 0:4 Roma u-19s match the other week.

Leaving aside the issue of if they are good enough or not, can we 'promote' youngsters into a premier league game when we have an injury crisis? I thought we had to register a 25-man squad back in the summer and I'm assuming they were not in that 25.

I'm all for pushing the young lads through at a time like this, but can we do it? Don't want us to be docked points for fielding an ineligible player lol!

Good point we can play Barker and Pozo as they are home grown but not Ambrose.

I really hope Pelli and Trixi take this into account.

Any player under 21 can play regardless of nationality

-I honestly think this is not a good time to give any youngster a debut in the 1st team.
-And Palace are not playing as poor as their run of results recently.
-Missing Kompany and the entire front line will be a big taks for the remaining players to try and cope with what will be a big tactical change.

I expect us to get three points. I also expect a scrappy game and if things go for us (that would be a change?!) it will still be nervewrecking. We have enough left to win, but this is not a moment of time to say it'll be easy. As for the youngsters I gladly leave that one to Pellegrini and Vieira. I would love it to see Pozo take his place upfront and score like he nearly did vs Everton. If there is any youngster who is able to make an impact at this moment of time it's Pozo.

I expect Pellegrini will trust the senior players to get the job done. Perhaps have a couple of juniors on the bench to get a taste of the action later on, or as a Plan B if we dont make the breakthrough.

I thought Pozo did well and played very intelligently. But its asking an awful lot of a young player to come in and play as a single striker.

Zaba's on a good streak - I would play him up front. Would be great to watch. He would work his tripe off.

i dont agree. Just cos he's scored and looked good going forward doesnt mean he'd be a better option than Navas, Nasri or even Lampard up front. Zaba's strengths are primarily defending and bombing forward from deep positions - he gets into positions unmarked because of such long runs - so to play him up front would immediately take away two of his major playing strengths. Centre halves would mark him completely out of the game.
