City Vs Roma Pre Match Thread

Some of you guys still don't get it. What's all this 4-0/ 5-0/ 6-0 to City business? Roma will not get destroyed trust me on this one. If City do win it will be a hard-fought grind with only one goal being the difference.

I have posted here before, I am a Bosnian who follows all our international players in their respective leagues and I am quite familiar with both Roma and City, I know their strengths and weaknesses and to those insular City fans I say be prepared for a big shock if you think this will be a walk in the park. I even suggested you drop Dzeko and just play Sergio as a lone striker, because you cannot let Roma control possession and midfield. Roma are no typical Italian side, these boys can play football, they can generate quick and dynamic attacks and if Pjanic is on form (and he usually is) Roma will beat City.

Yet another Roma fan who just registered on your forum to comment!

For tomorrow i'm all pumped up , and i'm sure that Roma CAN win vs City; of course that would be an huge upset since City are favorites by a countrymile , but anything can happen.

As it has been pointed out earlier in this thread , i think that playing a 4-4-2 vs Roma would be a suicide , our football style is primarily a possession based style with 3 midfielders rotating all the time , so having only 2 of your guys there would lose you the midfield battle , and you don't want that to happen.

All in all , we're not the classic "park the bus" italian team , it's gonna be a fun to watch , whatever the score ends up being.

There's a lot more to football than formations . If we defend high up the pitch and are super aggressive and remain compact there will be no space for Roma to breathe.

First, fuck united :)

But i just want to say this would be best for Roma tonight for man city to be arrogant and underrate their strength. If you play a high aggressive 4-4-2 line up I will be confident Roma get an early lead and then anything can happen but city can lose their way.

Roma love to stay compact, are great at quick tight passing and then with a high line and Totti he can find all angles for Gervinho. If Totti and destroy start together another Roma fan thinks that would be good. Yes good for city, they do not really function in a 4-3-3 as it lacks clear vision. Roma have the advantage of two attacking set up, the false 9 and a pure CF like Destro so we have many injuries but are still very dangerous.

I hope the fans can remain calm and a good game awaits

Forza Roma

Massive game, as realistically it is between us and Roma for the second place in the group.

But it's going to be tough, given that Roma have won all their games, home and away, so far this season ... they won't be lacking in confidence.

But an early goal for City might change that ?

I'm expecting a really good game, and goals.

Anyway my team to face Roma would be..JH..VK..MD..AK...FER..YT..JM.....JN...DS...ED/SA..Come on City...
I wouldn't prefer that team at all. Pretty sure we'd lose if we were to start with only ten players.

I don't think an early gol would undermine our confidence, but it would certainly increase the chances of a larger victory, given the importance of fast break in European football.

2-1 or viceversa would be my guess and I likely scenario, they won't settle for a tie.
