City Vs Stoke Post match Discussion Thread

That was very comfortable

City played very well. Stoke very very poor. They were useless and it's hard to believe that they are a Premiership football club they were that bad. Some of their players cost a lot of money but they played like a lower division club

Disappointing about Aguero's injury. He played really well, and looks back on form.

Stoke are horrible! I don't have any real complaints about how they play at home as they come at you, what I saw today was a disgrace to football though as they tried to rob all fans of their value for money with unbelievable negativity. Thankfully we were up for it, had we gone into it with the same lethargic attitudes as vs. Reading it could have been a 0-0 draw but this was vintage City of last season at home.

Agree fully. Put them under pressure and they just can't play themselves out of trouble...just a big effin "lump it" to Camo or Wally.

They may as well play a 5-0-5 formation

Great start to the new year. Wish the rags would come unstuck though

Allowing them to build a seven point gap wasn't the wisest thing to do , how likely are they to blow it again , and especially as we have still to visit their place ??

And allowing them to get all three points at our place was criminal .....

Pulis is an absolute joke. Stoke have the 3rd highest net spend in the league ffs and they were woeful today, worst team we've played all season by a mile. They barely got a cross in, let alone a shot..
Sitting in mid-table, 3rd highest spend, playing 'football' that makes your eyes bleed, and utterly toothless without his line-out specialists. Pathetic.
Teams have come to the Etihad on a far smaller budget and given a far better account of themselves.. he should wind his neck in under that ridiculous hat....

Another strong performance today, we' re playing much more like a team the last 2 games. Zaba & Clichy were again strong today.
Positivity & attacking formation will almost always beat negativity against this type of opposition. I have said before that Stoke are a rugby team, and their no talent no class manager again showed himself up, not just by his tactics on the pitch but also by his comments off the pitch.

They surely can't go through the rest of the season playing well or grinding out results. They've played City, Chelsea and Arsenal away already and won all three, so fair play to them.

We just need to make sure that if they do slip up, that we are ready to move. I'm rather worried about those below us as well TBH. Chelsea and Suprs putting runs together and if we lose at Arsenal, both are within touching distnace of us.

I think we are doing ourslves down.
They're not bad, we are vey good.

good to see a comfortable win today, the increased tempo certainly helped.

great performances all round. only downside is Sergio's injury.

Very very good performance today, everyone put a shift in, if we were off our game that would have been a tricky one today, well done boys. Overall a pretty good Xmas 4 wins 1 1 1 defeat. Bit of a freshen up in Jan, then kick on into the business end of the season. I feel It's starting to click. Barry and Zabaleta top drawer.

We could have won that game without a keeper. They are the worst team I have seen for some considerable time.

Just back from the match via the pub and I just want to say this match was an 'effin' disgrace. When you are warned after 4 minutes for wasting time there is something wrong (Stoke keeper) when the same player is warned after 8 minutes and not booked it is even worse. I know we are good (great) and I dont expect teams to play open football just so we can stuff them but time wasting when the match has just kicked off is out of order. Stoke your a F*ckin' joke.

Yes because they couldn't pass the ball or move like I expect from a top flight club.
